How to Add Songs to Leapfrog Scout
My Pal is a customizable puppy pal toy for your child that encourages learning and fun. The two My Pal toys, Scout and Violet, can be personalized with a child’s name, favorite color, favorite animal, favorite food and much more. The grade level can be set up with the toy so that the toy itself can grow with your child.
All customization is done via the Leapfrog app for PC and Mac. Here’s how to set up and use My Pal toys for the little one.
Downloading and Installing the App
As mentioned, in order to set up and personalize the My Pal devices, you need to download and install the Leapfrog Connect Application on your Mac or PC. Using this app, you can personalize the Scout/Violet toy by adding your child’s name, their favorite food, animal, color, music, etc. Additionally, you can create a Leapfrog learning path to watch activities and skills that your child is exploring.
To download the Leapfrog Connect app, visit www.leapfrog.com/support and navigate to the My Pals Scout & Violet page. From this page, locate the Download Software section and click Download. Once downloaded, install the app by running the install file and follow the onscreen instructions to complete the process. Keep in mind that you may be prompted to choose some things a few times during the installation, so be patient and stay at your computer until the installation is complete.
Now, click Continue to proceed to setting up your kid’s My Pal.

Next, you should see the Leapfrog Connect app starting up. You’re going to use this app in order to properly set up your kid’s Scout/Violet toy.
Creating the Account
In the Leapfrog’s Connect home screen, click Set up Your My Pal and carefully follow the instructions shown on the screen. You’re going to need to connect the Scout/Violet device to your computer using the provided USB cable.
On the device, you should see the light on the color blinking. If it doesn’t start blinking automatically, use the red paw to power it on (press it). Then, continue by following the onscreen instructions.
Now, you’ll need to create your Leapfrog parent account. It works like any other online registration process and is fairly simple and straightforward. By creating the account, you’ll gain access to your kid’s Leapfrog Learning Path. The Learning Path features personalized insight regarding the skills that your child is exploring. Once you’ve entered all the required information, click Agree and Continue.
Providing Your Kid’s Info
After you’re done creating the Leapfrog account, you’ll need to add personalized information about who will be playing with your toy. This is an essential step in creating your child’s Learning Path. Enter your kid’s name, their date of birth date, grade level, and gender. When you’re done, simply click Finish.
Now, you’ll be at the Leapfrog homepage, showing all the connected Leapfrog toys. In the My Pals Scout and Violet box, you’ll see a button with your kid’s name. Click the button. If there’s an exclamation mark next to a name, this means that the setup for your child’s new toy isn’t completely done. Click the exclamation mark. Follow the instructions in order to complete the setup.
Setting Up Your Homepage
Once finished, you can select the toy in question and you’ll be redirected to My Pal’s homepage. Click Get Started in order to continue customizing the Scout/Violet toy. Under My Name, enter your kid’s first name and then click Find Audio. Once you’ve selected the audio pronunciation of your child’s name, click Save To My Pal in the bottom-right corner of the screen.
Now, choose your child’s favorite food, animal, and color by navigating to the My Picks tab to the left. When done, click Save To My Pal.
On the My Music tab on the left, you’ll get to choose the music for your child. You can add five daytime songs and five lullabies. When done, click Save To My Pal.
