Android 6.0 Marshmallow Problems With WiFi (Solutions)

For those that have updated to Android 6.0 Marshmallow, you may be having problems with WiFi that seems like a common issue with those that own the new smartphone. Android Marshmallow switches from WiFi to Data randomly

The way that the your smartphone WiFi connection switches from WiFi to data is based on the WLAN to mobile data connection option that is activated in the Android settings of your smartphone. The name of this setting is called “Smart network switch” and was designed for Android 6.0 Marshmallow in order to automatically switch between Wi-Fi and mobile networks, such as LTE, to build up a stable network connection all the time.   5. Select the required Wi-Fi network profile you want to forget and select Forget
  6. The selected Wi-Fi network profile has been forgotten.

 

Disable the smart network switch on Android 6.0 Marshmallow and fix the WiFi problem:

  1. Turn on your smartphone
  2. Enable the mobile data connection of your smartphone.
  3. After the mobile data connection is enabled, go to Menu -> Settings -> Wireless.
  4. At the start of the page you will see the option “Smart network switch”.
  5. Uncheck this option to obtain a not so stable wireless connection of your smartphone with the router still upright.
  6. Now your smartphone will no longer automatically switch between Wi-Fi and the mobile Internet.
