For those that own an Apple iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus, from time to time some people have an issue with the phone not receiving text messages from other smartphones. At the same time, there is a related problem where the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus text messages are not sending, either. There are two different issues that are part of the problem when your iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus is not getting text messages.

The first is when the Apple iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus can’t receive texts or SMS from someone that sends a text from an Android phone. Another problem is that the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus text messages or SMS not sending to someone who uses a non-Apple phone, as the messages are sent as iMessage.

These two problems are commonly faced on the Apple iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus if you have used iMessage on your iPhone and then transferred your SIM card to a iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. For those that forgot to deactivate iMessage before using the SIM card on iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, other iOS device users will still try to use iMessage in order to text you. The good news is that we’ll explain below how to fix the Apple iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus not getting texts.
 
How To Fix Apple iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus Not Receiving Text Messages
One method to fix your iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus not getting texts is by going to the Settings of the phone. Then select on Messages > Send & Receive. Tap Use your Apple ID for iMessage and sign in with your Apple ID. Make sure that your phone number and Apple ID are listed under You Can Be Reached By iMessage. On your other iOS devices, go back to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive.

If you don’t have the original iPhone with you or cannot turn off the iMessage, the next best option would be to go to the Deregister iMessage page and turn off iMessage. Once you get to the deregister iMessage page, go to the bottom of the page to the “no longer have your iPhone?” option and select it. Below this option, there is a field to enter your phone number. Select your region and type your phone number, then click on Send Code. Write the code in the field “enter confirmation code” and then click on submit. Now you should be able to receive test messages on your Apple iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus from iPhone users.
