Here Are All The Stores You Can Shop at With Apple Pay on Monday

Apple announced Thursday during its iPad and Retina iMac event that the company will launch its ambitious Apple Pay service this Monday, October 20. The iOS 8.1 update, also set for release Monday, will enable Apple Pay on supported devices.

While Apple eventually hopes to see universal support for its take on secure NFC payments, Apple Pay will launch with an impressive, but limited, group of retail partners. So, where will eager Apple Pay users be able to shop this Monday? Here’s the current list:

  • Babies Я Us
  • BJ’s Wholesale Club
  • Bloomingdale’s
  • Champs
  • Chevron
  • Duane Reade
  • ExtraMile
  • Foot Locker
  • Footaction
  • House of Hoops
  • Kids Foot Locker
  • Ladies Foot Locker
  • Macy’s
  • McDonald’s
  • Nike
  • Office Depot
  • Panera Bread
  • Petco
  • RadioShack
  • RUN
  • SIX:02
  • Sports Authority

Of course, retail stores are just one factor of Apple Pay. The new service will also support quick and secure payments via supported apps and websites. Here are the apps that will have Apple Pay support ready to go on Monday:

As with their retail counterparts, the following apps will introduce Apple Pay support “later this year:”

In addition to the participating retail outlets and apps, Apple Pay will be supported by more than 500 banks and financial institutions, covering 83 percent of the total credit card purchase volume in the United States.

As mentioned, Apple Pay requires iOS 8.1 and one of the following devices for in-store use: iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPad Air 2, iPad mini 3. The iPhone 5s will also support Apple Pay, but for online and app purchases only, as it lacks NFC capabilities.
