The Best Porn Addiction Apps for Android

Posted by Arch on July 2, 2018

The rise of the internet has made pornographic content more readily available than ever before. With so much content at your fingertips, your curiosity can easily get the better of you. Before you know it, you could become addicted to porn like millions of others – both men and women – around the world.

Porn addiction is no laughing matter and requires a lot of hard work and perseverance to overcome. Thankfully, there are many things that can help you break your porn habit – including mobile apps.

Today we’ll take a closer look at the four most popular porn addiction apps for Android.

Covenant Eyes

Covenant Eyes is a multi-platform app that monitors your browsing activity and logs the data about every single site you visit. It then turns this data into a well-organized report and periodically sends it to an email address of your choice.

So how exactly does this help you beat your porn addiction?

Well, this app works in two ways. For one, it allows you to filter out certain types of content so that you can no longer access them from your phone.

It also works as an accountability app, but you’ll need to enlist the support of someone – your partner, a family member, or a trusted friend – as your accountability partner for it to have an effect. You will enter their email address when you first launch the app so that they receive periodical reports about your online activity. For many people, the fact that their loved ones would know if they visited a porn site is enough to help them get through their addiction withdrawal.

Before you can use Covenant Eyes, you will have to enable the Device Administrator, which prevents accidental removal of the app. If at any point temptation takes over, you just have to tap the panic button to cut off your internet access. You can try the app free of charge for 30 days. To continue using it after that, you will need to pay a monthly subscription fee.

StopFap 2

Although primarily designed to help masturbation addicts, StopFap 2 is a great Android app that can also help you battle your porn addiction.

To start using it, you just have to come up with a username and then enter the number of days you’ve gone without masturbating. This allows the app to track your progress.

The main screen has a large emergency button that you should press whenever you feel the urge to watch porn. As soon as you press it, you’ll see a random fact about masturbation and/or porn. For example, one message says that masturbation ruins your perception of women.

These random facts will keep showing until you’ve successfully resisted the urge. You only have to keep tapping the “Motivate Me More” button. If for some reason you fail to resist, you should tap the “I Couldn’t Resist” button so that the app can reset your progress.

You can use StopFap 2 for free without entering any personal data, including your email address. Surprisingly for a free Android app, it doesn’t even feature in-app adverts.

But the most fascinating thing about StopFap 2 is that it has a community tab, where users can exchange their experiences. It is a great way to get the support you need from people who understand exactly what you’re going through, as well as to give it back to others. This is a standout feature that you won’t find in any other app of this sort.

Ever Accountable

As its name suggests, Ever Accountable is another accountability app that aims to help porn addicts overcome their addiction. To start using it, you have to sign in with your Facebook or Google account. Alternatively, you can also register a new account using your email address.

This app works much like Covenant Eyes – it tracks your browsing data and sends weekly reports to your accountability partner. There are, however, two main differences between these apps.

For one, you can add an unlimited number of people who will receive reports about your browsing activity. As such, not only will your partner be able to see which sites you’ve visited, but so will your friends, siblings, or any other trusted people you choose.

Unlike Covenant Eyes, this app doesn’t have a filtering option or a panic button. So if you experience a sudden crisis, only your willpower can help prevent a relapse. Well, that and the thought that several loved ones would know if you gave in to your urges.

To use Ever Accountable, you need to subscribe to one of two monthly plans, with prices ranging from $69.99 to $99.99 per month. All new users also get a two-week free trial.

Victory

Victory is a great porn addiction app with a strong Christian slant. Sadly, this means that non-believers might not get the motivation they need to beat their addiction. But even if you’re not religious, you should still give this app a try, as it comes with numerous great features.

The main screen shows a monthly calendar with clickable dates. Tap on any date and you’ll get three options: Check-in, Confession, and Journal.

The first option allows you to rate how you’re doing with temptation on a scale of “good” to “poor.” You can also log any setbacks you might experience. As for the second option, its name says everything you need to know. Use this to log when you had your confession.

One of the several standout features of this app is the “Journal” function. You can use it to make note of your daily triggers, develop a plan to fight them the next time they occur, as well as to jot down any other thoughts you may have. Once you’re cured of your addiction, these entries will serve as a powerful reminder of the struggle you went through to overcome your problems.

Another great feature is the Victory Book, which helps put your problems into perspective and provides the motivation you need to persist. It is organized into 54 short chapters that talk about God, personal restraint, and porn star mortality rates. The book also features half a dozen pages with visual quotes by some of history’s best known religious figures.

Victory is another free app that doesn’t contain advertising. It also doesn’t ask you to enter any personal data whatsoever, unless you plan on using the accountability feature. If that’s the case, you will have to register a free account.

Choosing the Right App for You

All four apps reviewed in this article could help you overcome your porn addiction, but which of them should you choose?

This will depend solely on how you wish to fight your addiction. If you want to go the accountability route, either Ever Accountable or Covenant Eyes could be a good choice. They both require a monthly subscription, but you can try them for free first.

If accountability is not your thing, you can choose between Victory and StopFap 2. Both come with many great features that can help you find the motivation you need to resist temptation. What’s more, they are free!
