If you want to include yourself in your movies, you’re going to need a selfie stick. You’ll need something as rugged and as capable as your camera and preferably one that folds away so it doesn’t hamper whatever experience you’re enjoying once you’re done. That’s why we have put together this list of the five best selfie sticks for GoPro cameras.

Each selfie stick is long enough to manage the wide angle lens of the GoPro, is reasonably priced, is pretty much bombproof and just works. Of course, each of these five are fully compatible with as many of the GoPro range as possible. I have tested them with the GoPro Hero3, but the literature says they should work with GoPro Hero 1, Hero 2, Hero 3, Hero 3+ and Hero 4 cameras too.

1. GoPole Evo Floating Extension Pole

The GoPole Evo Floating Extension Pole does exactly what it says on the tin. It floats, extends and fits a GoPro camera. The pole extends from 14 inches up to 24 inches and increments in-between should you need them. The threaded insert at the top is designed specifically for GoPro so there is no adapter or fiddling required.

At around $45, it isn’t cheap. In return, you get a well-made accessory with a clip for a remote, hand loop and waterproofing. The construction is good, materials of a decent quality and the GoPole Evo Floating Extension Pole looks like it will last the test of time.

2. GoPro 3-Way Grip, Arm, Tripod

The GoPro 3-Way Grip, Arm, Tripod is an official GoPro product and while it carries a price premium because of that, it is so good that we think it worth paying. While it works very well as a selfie stick, it also works as a camera grip and a tripod too. This flexibility means there should be no situation where you’re scratching your head about how to frame a shot.

The GoPro 3-Way Grip, Arm, Tripod is waterproof, made of good quality materials and extends from 7.5 inches up to 20 inches. At $67, it isn’t cheap but the flexibility on offer means it’s a price worth paying.
