How To Cancel Stitch Fix

Posted by Jamie on June 17, 2019

Stitch Fix is a clothes and personal styling subscription service that helps the stylistically-challenged among us to choose clothes that will fit and be stylish in the mail each month. Stitch Fix is also great for those who do have a great sense of style to get convenient wardrobe updates monthly without spending the time visiting stores.

Stitch charges a one time styling fee to get a sense of your style, though that charge is credited back to you if you keep at least once item of the five sent to you. You choose a shipping frequency such as every two months, once a month, or once every two weeks, or you can cancel automatic deliveries.

For people who love to shop and who bring home a new outfit twice a week, the service doesn’t make much sense, but for those of us who buy jeans once a year at a bargain store, it can be a great way to be a little more in-tune with the fashion muse without having to make any major lifestyle changes (like hanging out in malls or clothing stores).

Stitch Fix, Le Tote, Cratejoy, Rocksbox, Gwynnie Bee, Golden Tote, Fabletics, Wantable, Elizabeth & Clarke and others like it all have one thing in common: They all provide a monthly clothing service for those who prefer home delivery to mall and store shopping.

Unlike those other services Stitch Fix isn’t a rental service but more an automated shopping service with the option to buy if you like the items sent to you. If you’re busy, don’t like clothes shopping or just don’t care about clothing shopping in general, these services are ideal. If you like clothes shopping or are even slightly particular about what you wear, then these sort of services aren’t necessarily ideal.

Instead of canceling your Stitch account, you could just reduce the shipping frequency at which you receive your shipments.

However, if your love affair with Internet shopping using Stitch Fix comes to an end at least for the time being, here is how to cancel automatic deliveries from Stitch Fix, giving you the the option of resuming automatic deliveries in the future.

Cancel Stitch Fix Automatic Deliveries

Stitch Fix is a subscription service, so you need to follow the process in order to cancel your subscription. Fortunately, the process is quite straightforward. You can cancel your Stitch Fix subscription from a web browser and from the Stitch Fix app.

From a browser:

  1. Sign into your Stitch Fix account.
  2. Select Manage Fix Frequency.
  3. Unselect the box that says “Save me time by sending Fixes on a schedule.”
  4. Confirm your selection.
  5. Select ‘Stop receiving Fixes automatically’ and then select Continue.

From the Stitch Fix app:

  1. Open the Stitch Fix app and select Account.
  2. Unselect the box that says “Save me time by sending Fixes on a schedule.”
  3. Confirm your selection.

The process will cancel the next order in line and as long as all items dispatched have been returned, no more payments will be taken. If another delivery is being created, you may not be able to cancel your order. If you see ‘Your Fix is in Progress’ you can open a ticket with Stitch Fix to try to cancel that order. Otherwise, just return the order to Stitch when it arrives.

Stitch Fix would prefer you manage everything online or through the app, but if you really need to talk to a human, you can reach Stitch customer service at (415) 882-7765.

As you may have noticed, the above process pauses your account and switches it from automatic to manual delivery, but does not completely cancel the account. You may just want to take a break but maybe you are sure that you’re not going to be using Stitch Fix any time soon. In that case, you can totally cancel your Stitch account.

How to Completely Cancel Your Stitch Fix Account

If you are sure that you want to cancel your Stitch Fix account altogether (not just take a break) then you will need to email the company at [email protected] and request account cancellation. You can also reach out over social media and the support team will respond, though email is the best  way to cancel your account.

Cancelling your account SHOULD NOT be this difficult. They should have an account cancellation option on their site. I hate these subscription services and how underhanded they are.

Your “Cancel Anytime” advertising is very misleading- I now see that I can postpone my subscription anytime but actually canceling is a pain with hoops that I have to take the time and jump through. This leaves me with such frustration and a bitter taste in my mouth I will never be back and will warn whomever I speak to about your company. This alone is extremely bad style, completely uncool and down-right ugly. Shame on you and your manipulative marketing tactics. It’s disgusting.

I am also frustrated and after many hours and You Tube videos, I am still unable to get to the page that supposedly says “Stop receiving fixes automatically. This is ludicrous and customer “Unfriendly”.

I love the help. I hate shopping. Although some of the patterns are aged and just ugly, for the most part I enjoy and appreciate the help from time to time.
