Although changing text color in a pdf is not the most straightforward process, it’s far from being impossible. In this article, you’ll discover how to change text color in a PDF so you can customize your documents.

Requirements to Change PDF Text Color

There are only two things you require: your PDF and some type of PDF editor or reader. You can use Adobe Reader or PDF Element Pro. If you don’t have them on your device, don’t worry. You can find plenty of free PDF editors online.

How to Change Text Color using Adobe Reader

Open your PDF using Adobe Reader.
Select “Edit -> Preferences.”
Choose “Accessibility.”
Click on the “Document Text” box to open color options. If this option is disabled, you can click on “Custom Color” to activate the color options.
Choose your new text color from the pallette.
Click “OK” to save and close the menu.
Confirm that text color changed.

Note: Changing PDF text color in Adobe Reader only changes the entire document (with certain exclusions). You cannot highlight and change just the selected text’s color.

Open PDF Element Pro.
Click on Open File.
Find your PDF and click on it to open it.
Select the text you want to edit by double-clicking.
Click on Edit.
You’ll now see the Editing panel on the right side of the screen.
Click on Font Color and select the color you want.
Click on Save.
