How To Convert VCE Files to PDF

Many of us have taken IT certification courses so that we could take those exams and get those coveted certifications with which to build our IT careers. A lot of companies use this model to certify technical workers – Microsoft, Cisco, SeaChange, CompTIA, Nortel and many others.

All of the exams follow roughly similar formats: you sit in front of a computer in a testing room with exam proctors, and answer multiple-choice questions about the subject of the certification. One thing that many of these exams have in common is that they were built Visual Certification Exam software and used VCE files. There is a thriving community built on sharing these exams so that people can prepare for them.

However, if you get hold of a copy of an exam, or have some practice exams in VCE format, and would like to do further study of the exam material, the VCE files aren’t going to be a whole lot of use to you.

In order to read these exam files, you have to have Visual Certification Exam software, which is expensive – it’s not worth the investment just to read a couple of tests.

But wait! Did you know you can convert VCE files to Portable Document Format (PDF) files? Well, you can! In this how-to article I will walk you through the steps for using widely-available tools to convert VCE files to PDF files so that you can easily use them to study for and prepare for IT certification exams.

doPDF PDF Converter

doPDF is a general PDF conversion tool that works well in almost any situation. Offered in both free and premium versions, the tool allows you to convert, print to PDF, convert PDF to Microsoft Office and other neat tricks.

What makes it even more useful is support for add-ons. One of these add-ons is called VCE Designer and that’s the one you will need. Select the free version of both apps, open the VCE file in VCE Designer and select Print as doPDF.

The process can take a little while depending on the file size and some of the formatting may be messed up but it does work.

CutePDF Converter works in a similar fashion as the doPDF Converter. It is a free version of a commercial PDF file converter and printer that also interacts with extensions such as VCE Designer.

The CutePDF Converter It can convert VCE files to PDF and print them to a document or paper as you need. As a standalone app, CutePDF is pretty good. It is small, doesn’t take up too many resources and prints credibly well to PDF.

You will need to download VCE Designer to work with it and then print the PDF using CutePDF.

VCE to PDF Converter

I haven’t tried the VCE to PDF converter but I saw it reviewed on another tech website and the feedback was positive. This software is freeware but you need to complete a marketing offer form in order to be allowed to download the program.

Just choose any of them and use a disposable email address and fake details to complete. Once you done submitting the form, the download box will be enabled. The app looks simple to use, just select a VCE file, select an output type, and hit Convert.
