How To Turn Off And Disable LED Notification

  2. From the Home screen open the Menu
  3. Then go to Settings

  6. Use the toggle to disable this feature

The main reason you would to want disable the flashing notification feature would be able to keep your messages and notifications private or if you often receive messages that contain important information.
It’s important to note that you can’t disable individual notification types for the LED on the phone. This feature make you select either to use the light up notification for all alerts, or not use it at all. That is how the phone ships by default from Samsung. There are three default notification light colors: blue, red and green. When you plug your device in to a power cord to charge, the light will show steady ready. It starts to show steady green when charging is complete. Text and voice messages are indicated with a flashing green light, and other app notifications with a flashing blue light.

Unofficial LED Settings

Despite these default settings, there are other colors and configurations possible for LED notifications. Third party apps can make use of the expanded color palette. In fact, you may have already seen a different colored light appear. Yellow is fairly common in some apps. To reduce the confusion of various apps using different LED notification settings, we recommend downloading a notification manager.
One such app that’s available free of charge is called Light Manager – LED Settings. It’s easy to find on the Google Play Store, but here’s a direct link just in case. It’s well-reviewed and gets frequent updates. If you’re looking for a little bit more functionality you can try Light Flow – LED Control. It has a free and paid version. The paid version includes sleep mode and vibration customizations as well.
