How To Edit Channels List on Pluto TV
Pluto TV is a great way to watch some old-fashioned television for free. Your options are a bit limited, though, as you can’t watch content on demand whenever you want. However, this doesn’t mean there is no way to spice things up and edit channels to make your channel list feel more personalized.
This service allows you to either hide channels or add them to your favorites. In this article, you will learn how to do both.
Before you can hide channels or create your favorites list, you first need to register. It is also advisable to activate your device. If you’re already registered but want to change your email or password, here’s what you can do:
- Find Settings.
- Go to “Edit Profile”.
- Select either “Update Email” or “Change Password”.
- Make the desired changes.
If you want to reset your password in case you forgot it, you can do it from Pluto TV’s website. Here’s how:
- Find the “Sign-Up” link.
- In the registration window, click “Log In”.
- Click “Reset Password”.
- Make sure you’ve entered both your username and your email before clicking “Reset Password”.
An email with a password reset link shall follow shortly.
Activate the Device
Again, after creating an account and making sure you have access to it, the next step is to activate the device. This is an optional step, as its purpose is to turn your smartphone into a remote control for Pluto TV. Please note that not all devices can be activated, and the list of devices that can be activated tends to change over time.
- To begin, find the channel guide.
- Either select “Activate” or find the Pluto TV Info Channel. It is channel number 02.
- Find the code. It should be located at the top of the screen.
- You can activate from your phone by going to MyPluto, then selecting “Activate”, and entering the mentioned code. Otherwise, just go to this page and follow the prompts.
Should you need more codes, just switch to channel number 02 again. To unpair a device, you’ll have to go to MyPluto, then “Activate” again, but opt for “Select Device” this time around. Finally, press the X to remove the device.
Being Up to Date
It is important to mention that the features you’re looking for might not work for you. The service’s users have reported problems with hiding/adding channels to favorites. It has been confirmed by Pluto TV employees that there is a bug in the program and that it’s being worked on.
Before you start blaming bugs, though, try updating both your device and your Pluto TV software. This is the recommended course of action for technical difficulties. If that doesn’t help, there really might be a bug at the time of your login.
You can also get the current Android version of Pluto TV here. For the current iOS version of the app, click here. Apple TV and Roku devices have update processes of their own. To see if you have the latest version of the Pluto TV app on your Roku device, do the following:

The Main Event
If you managed to avoid bugs, here’s what you should do to edit your channel list:
- Go to MyPluto.
- Click “Edit Channels”.
- Click the heart button next to a channel to add it your favorites or click the eye to hide it.
Note: a colored heart will let you know that the channel is already in your favorites, while the crossed eye shows you that it’s already hidden. You cannot favorite a channel that you’ve hidden and vice versa.
If you followed the instructions in this article carefully and updated both your device and Pluto TV software, you should now have no problem adding channels to favorites or hiding them. If you encountered some issues in the process, chances are that you’re dealing with a known bug that should be resolved in the near future.
