Will eHarmony Refund Your Money?

eHarmony is one of the largest and most popular dating websites out there. The company behind it claims that every 14 minutes someone finds love on the site. There are plenty of men and women with similar interests like you, and many have found their soulmates here.

However, no dating website is perfect, and some people may not be satisfied with eHarmony. If you were wondering whether it’s possible to get your money back if you don’t like the website, the answer is both yes and no. Let’s take a closer look.

Free Membership

First of all, it is good to know that you can try out eHarmony for free. You can start with free Basic membership, and then you can pay and expand to Premium membership if you decide that you like the site. Basic membership allows you to have matches, send greetings and smiles, and to respond to the first message.

When you purchase Premium membership, you will be able to send an unlimited number of text messages and see photos of all of your matches. Premium membership allows you to make the most of this dating website.

3-Day Cancellation Policy

When it comes to refunding money, eHarmony is not the most flexible app. However, in some cases, it is possible to get your money back if you are not satisfied.

According to terms and conditions, there is a 3-day cancellation policy for people who have bought Singles Services. It is possible to cancel your agreement, up to three business days after your purchase. You can cancel it anytime before midnight of the third business day, excluding Sundays and national holidays.

However, it seems that it is not possible to do it online. You will have to mail the company a signed notice stating that you want to cancel the agreement. The other option is to request cancellation via a telegram. You also have to send them the e-mail address that is linked to your eHarmony profile so that they can verify it is you.

You can find the mailing address on the eHarmony website. If you have submitted the refund request correctly, you can expect to get your money back within ten days.

Cancellation Without Refund

It is possible to cancel your subscription and delete your account whenever you want, but there is no guarantee that you will get your money back.

If you want to cancel your subscription, all you have to do is open the eHarmony website or app. All smartphones, computers, and tablets can access the site. From the Home page, go to My Settings and then click on Account Settings. You should then click on Close Account or Cancel My Subscription. The app might ask you to provide some information or do a quick survey.

This way, you can delete your account and cancel your subscription. However, unfortunately, you won’t get a refund. Your subscription will end at the end of the current billing period, and eHarmony won’t renew it.

Subscription Options

You can try the site for free, but you’ll eventually have to choose from one of the three membership options. It is possible to purchase Premium membership for a period of 6, 12, or 24 months.

If you are not sure what to do, we suggest you first have a free trial and see whether you like the app or not. Unfortunately, free Basic membership is pretty limited, and you won’t have a chance to develop a meaningful relationship with other members.

If you find eHarmony useful, you can choose the subscription plan that is the most convenient for you.

Give It a Try

Some people want to cancel their membership because they haven’t had any matches, and that is fine. Maybe the right person for you isn’t using dating websites, and you might meet him or her in real-life.

However, if you want to leave because you haven’t figured out how to use the website, we encourage you to give it one more try.

Have you already tried eHarmony? If not, would you give it a chance? Feel free to share your opinion in the comments section below.

I tried the free version for a fee days and received a lot of flirts, so I decided to become a paid member on a 12 month plan. As soon as I became a member, all those people that flirted with me decided to delete their accounts (ironic huh). I emailed eHarmony and told them to cancel membership and refund my money, to which they replied the state in which I live didn’t offer the 3 day refund policy. I told them to cancel my membership anyway and deletemy account. They didn’t do as I requested, but I suddenly started receiving tons of messages from profiles with pictures that looked like they were taken with Polaroids and not cell phones. So I decided to keep membership awhile longer and tall to these women. Guess what, they used the “say goodbye” option to block me from messaging them (also ironic huh). So I sent eharmony another email telling them to cancel my membership, deleted my account, and stop any future charges to my account. It took them nearly 2 weeks before finally canceling my membership and deleting my account. They told me I would still be charged any remaining payments on my account. Even after threatening to report them to the attorney General for fraudulent business practices they still took money out of my account. Pretty bold move on their part. Looks like my Attorney General and the Better Business Bureau are going to be getting an email from me regarding eHarmony’s shady business practices.

Correction regarding the three day option to cancel. I just attempted to cancel my membership during the three day window. In the terms of agreement I found an email I could use to do this. I sent my email, and got a response that because of my state of residence I could not cancel. Turns out the option to cancel with in three days is only available to residents of 11 states. If you don’t live in one of those 11 states you are not able to get any refund. This is stated elsewhere in the terms of agreement, but is not stated in the section that outlines the other information regarding cancelling within three days. Very misleading and unethical, imo.

Raquel says:
This company is not ethic. They deceive customers. I paid and quickly realised that it was not the service I expected. They told me Oh sorry. You dont live in USA, so we dont apply the refund for persons outside USA. Be careful with this company and its lack of honesty and ethics.
