Google Pixel 2 Problems With Calls

Problems with calls are a common issue for those that own the Google Pixel 2. Sometimes the Pixel 2 can’t make or receive calls at all. Below we’ll get into some of the solutions that you can use to fix your Pixel 2 problems with calls that is causing you a headache. The reason that it’s good to know these troubleshooting tips, is that it can help you restore your phone back to working order without having to get it replaced.

The Google Pixel 2 calls dropping happens to some after talking on the phone for a few minutes, this can be from network issues or Internet connection on the Pixel 2. Below is what you can do if you Pixel 2 can’t make and/or receive phone calls.

Check Pixel 2 Signal Bars

The first thing you should do when you are having Pixel 2 problems with calls is to check the signal bars on your smartphone. Since the way that you can receive or make a call is related to the cell phone service that is provided from a wireless tower to send a signal.

If you notice that your Pixel 2 has no signal, then it’s a good idea to reset your smartphone that can fix a small glitch on your phone. The following is a guide on how to reboot your Pixel 2.

Check to See if Flight Mode is Disabled

The reason that you can be having problems with calls on Pixel 2 is because your phone is on Flight Mode. When Flight Mode is turned on, all wireless connections are turned off. Check to see that the Flight Mode setting is turned on by using the following instructions.

  1. Turn on your Pixel 2
  2. Tap and pull down the Notifications bar
  3. Select on the Settings icon
  4. Select on Flight Mode
  5. Change the toggle on Flight Mode to OFF

Change Pixel 2 Network Mode

If the method above doesn’t work, then try to change the Google Pixel 2 network mode to fix calls. The reason for this is because your Pixel 2 could only be working on a specific network.

  1. Turn on your Pixel 2
  2. From the top of the screen, slide down your finger to bring up your menu
  3. Select on the Settings icon
  4. Tap on Mobile Networks
  5. Select on Network mode
  6. Select WCDMA/GSM

Find Networks Automatically

Another method to solve the Pixel 2 phone call problems is that you need to change the settings on your phone to find networks automatically. Sometimes when you go out of a phones range, the connection will be lost and you need to automatically find a new network.

  1. Turn on your Pixel 2
  2. From of the top of the screen, slide down your finger to bring up the menu
  3. Select on Settings
  4. Tap Mobile networks
  5. Select Network operators
  6. Now your Pixel 2 find networks within range
  7. Select Select automatically

Verify Your Account Status

It’s important to verify your account is active. The reason for this is because if your wireless account is not active, then you can’t make or receive calls. So double check with your wireless carrier like Verizon, AT&T, Sprint or T-Mobile to make sure all your bills have been paid. If your bills have been paid, then your wireless provider will tell you if there’s a problem with their system.

Verify if There’s Outage in Your Area

Another reason that you could be having issues with calls on the Pixel 2 is because of a outage in your area. This is the most common reason behind your problem. From time to time, cellular service will go out for maintenance reasons and you need to wait until the network is back up and running.
