How To Change Wallpaper on the iPhone 7/7+

One of the ways to personalize your iPhone 7/7+ and showcase your style is to change the default wallpaper that comes with it. You can have separate wallpapers on your Home screen and your Lock screen or choose a single one for a uniform look.

One way or the other, personalization is very simple in iOS. We have created a comprehensive guide to help you quickly change the wallpaper on your iPhone.

1. Launch The Settings App

When you get inside the Settings app, swipe down until you reach Wallpaper, then tap to open it.

2. Select Choose a New Wallpaper

The Wallpaper menu allows you to change the existing one by simply tapping on Choose a New Wallpaper.

3. Select the Wallpaper Type

The iOS software allows you to choose three different types of wallpaper or select one from your Photo Library. Let’s take a closer look at the different types of Wallpapers you can choose:


The default iPhone wallpapers react when you move the phone. Also, the images feature fade-into effect when you view them.


These are regular still images from Apple’s photo stock.

4. Select a Wallpaper

Tap on the photo you wish to select to enter the Preview mode.

5. Choose Display Options

The Preview mode gives you three options to display the wallpaper you selected. The Display Options are:


This option will display a still image no matter which type of wallpaper you select.


If you choose perspective, the wallpaper you selected will show a different perspective when you move your iPhone 7/7+.

Live Photo

The Live Photo option is only available for Live wallpapers. It animates the image every time you press the screen.

6. Set the Wallpaper

Once you are happy with all the settings, you should tap on Set to confirm. This will bring up a pop-up menu that lets you choose whether the wallpaper will be on your Home screen, Lock screen, or both. After you make this final selection, your new wallpaper will be all set.

Changing the Wallpaper from Photos

You also have the option to set a new wallpaper directly from your Photo Library. To do this, follow the next steps:

1. Launch the Photos Application

Once you are inside the Photos app, select the image you want to use by tapping on it.

2. Select Share

Tap on the Share button in the bottom left-hand corner to enter sharing options. Swipe left in the bottom section of the sharing option and tap on Use as Wallpaper.

3. Position and Select Options

After you tap on Use as Wallpaper, drag the photo left or right to get the desired position. Then choose which mode you want the photo to be in (Still or Perspective) and tap on Set.

4. Select the Screen

After you tap on Set, choose which screen you want to display the wallpaper – and you’re done.
