Google Pixel 3 – How to Change Language

Posted by Arch on February 13, 2019

By default, the Pixel 3’s interface language is English. However, you can set it to pretty much any language you want, as Android is available in all the major languages, and some not so major. This doesn’t just go for the interface but the keyboard as well.

Whether you’re looking to switch the Pixel 3 to a language that you’re in the process of learning, texting someone in their language, or any other reason, this is a fairly easy process. In no more than a few taps, you can change the language without hassle.

Changing the Default Language of the Pixel 3

Here are the steps for changing the language of your Pixel 3’s interface:

  1. From the top of the screen, swipe down to access the notification panel, tap on the gear icon to go to the Settings menu.
  2. Navigate to the end of the settings list and go to System.
  3. Go to Languages & Input.
  4. Go to Languages, then tap Add a language.
  5. Choose the language that you want to add and tap on it.

Once you go back to the Languages menu, you’ll see the newly added language on the list. If you want to set it as your phone’s default language, press and hold it and drag it to the top of the list.

If you don’t want to use a language anymore, you can simply delete it from the list. To do this, navigate to the Languages menu by following the steps above, tap the three-dot icon in the top-right corner, tap Remove, and tap the check boxes next to the languages that you want to delete. Then, simply tap the trash can icon and confirm the removal.

Changing the Keyboard Language

As with pretty much all new devices, changing the keyboard language and switching between multiple keyboards is a breeze. Here’s how to do it:

  1. Navigate to Languages & Input by following the first 3 steps in the above tutorial.
  2. Go to Virtual Keyboard.
  3. Go to Gboard > Languages
  4. Tap Add Keyboard.
  5. Scroll through the languages and tap the one that you want to add.
  6. If there is more than one keyboard for a language, tap your preferred version.
  7. Tap

You can add as many languages as you want. While entering any kind of text, you can change the keyboard language easily by tapping on the globe icon at the bottom of the screen and then choosing the language that you want to type in.

The Final Word

As you can see, changing language on the Pixel 3 is a breeze. You can add and remove them and switch between different keyboard languages quickly.
