iPhone 7 – How to Mirror My Screen to My TV or PC

Posted by Arch on January 11, 2019

Watching your everyday entertainment is much more enjoyable on a big screen. If you own an iPhone/iPad, there are several options for you to make this happen.

The methods you’ll see here have been tested on an iPhone 7+, but they’ll work for almost every other iPhone. So, without further ado, let’s see what you can do to mirror your iPhone screen to a bigger screen.

Mirroring Your Screen to Apple TV

One of the main selling points of Apple devices is the Apple ecosystem. The connection between multiple devices is seamless, and this kind of cohesiveness makes Apple’s customers want to buy more than just one device.

If you have an Apple TV, mirroring your screen to it is a piece of cake. Here’s what you have to do:

  1. Swipe up from the bottom of the screen to access Control Center.
  2. Tap on the screen mirroring button.
  3. You’ll get the list of all your AirPlay receivers, so choose Apple TV.

That’s it! After you’ve done this, you’ll see your iPhone screen on your Apple TV. Bear in mind that, since the connection is wireless, you might experience some lagging if it’s not strong enough. This often happens with games, where you might notice a delay. On the other hand, you should have no issues with other uses of AirPlay.

Use a Wired Connection

If you don’t own an Apple TV, you can still mirror your screen. All you need is a Lightning-to-HDMI adapter, which you can buy almost anywhere.

Once you have your adapter, here’s what to do:

  1. Connect the adapter to your iPhone via the lightning port.
  2. Connect your TV or PC to the HDMI cable.
  3. Choose the right input source to mirror the screen.

The most up-to-date adapters allow for 1080p streaming, which fits the resolution of most iPhones and iPads. As a general rule, wired connections are more stable than wireless, so you shouldn’t experience any delay or lag.

Use LonelyScreen

There are many 3rd party apps that you can use to mirror your iPhone screen to your PC. LonelyScreen seems is a favorite of many users. It’s a paid service, but quite affordable, and you can always use the free trial to see if it’s for you.

Here’s how to make it work:

  1. Download and install LonelyScreen on your PC.
  2. When prompted, allow access to private network by clicking the checkbox next to the option.
  3. Once the installation is complete, open LonelyScreen on your PC, then go to control center and select it from your list of AirPlay receivers.

After you do this, your iPhone screen will show up on your PC.

To stop mirroring, simply go to the Screen Mirroring menu in the Control Center, then tap Stop Mirroring.

The Final Word

As you can see, mirroring your iPhone screen to your TV or PC is a hassle-free task. When going with a 3rd party app, keep in mind that many free options out there might gather your data without your knowledge. It’s always better to pay a couple of bucks a year for a legit service than risk compromising your private data.
