Moto Z2 Force – Internet Is Slow – What to Do

Posted by Arch on December 20, 2018

Your smartphone becomes far less useful if you have to deal with a slow internet connection. Fortunately, there are various ways to address this problem.

Clear App Caches

There are many upsides to doing this kind of cleanup. It can improve the way your apps function, and it will speed up your phone in general. It can also solve connectivity issues, including a slow internet.

Here is how you can clear your cache on your Moto Z2 Force:

  1. Open Settings – Tap the Up arrow to access your app screen. The Settings icon is a gray cogwheel.
  2. Open Apps & Notifications
  3. Tap on App Info
  4. Select the Dropdown Menu – Go for the downward arrow icon.
  5. Tap on All Apps

This will bring you to a list of all the applications available on your phone. You can remove the cached data from a particular app if you tap on it. Select Storage > Clear Cache.

If you’ve recently installed a new app, we recommend starting with its cache. If clearing the cache of this new app doesn’t work, you might need to delete the app data, or even uninstall the entire app.

Clear the Cache Partition

Here is another way to achieve the same effect. On the Moto Z2 Force, you can use Recovery Mode to clear your cache partition. This will get rid of all cached data at the same time, freeing your phone up.

To enter Recovery Mode, you should turn off your phone, and then press Volume Down and the Power button until it turns back on. From there, use the Volume Up, Volume Down, and Power button to reach the “wipe cache partition” option.

Other Solutions

1. Check the Wi-Fi

It’s a good idea to check if other devices are having the same problem. If so, you want to restart your modem and router in order to speed it up. But instead of merely pressing the restart button, we recommend disconnecting and unplugging the router and modem. Keep them unplugged for a few minutes before you power it back up.

If you can’t access other devices, you can download a Wi-Fi health check app.

2. Forget the Network You’re Connected to

Is your phone the only nearby device that’s battling a slow Wi-Fi issue? In this case, it helps to forget the network you’re connected to. Follow these steps:

  1. Open Settings
  2. Under “Wireless & Networks”, Select Wi-Fi
  3. If Necessary, Tap the Toggle to Turn Wi-Fi On
  4. Tap and Hold the Wi-Fi Network You Want to Delete
  5. Select “Forget Network”

After this, you’ll have to re-enter your password before you can connect to the internet. If your Z2 Force is running Android 8.0 instead of Android 7.1.1, the steps you need to take are:

  1. Enter Settings
  2. Enter Network & Internet
  3. Tap on Wi-Fi
  4. Tap and Hold the Wi-Fi Network You Want to Delete
  5. Select “Forget Network”

A Final Word

Dealing with slow Wi-Fi is exasperating, and it can ruin your enjoyment and interfere with your personal and professional conversations. If you notice your phone is too slow, act immediately. This generally isn’t the kind of problem that will resolve itself over time.
