Oppo A37 – How to Move Files to PC

Posted by Arch on January 3, 2019

If you take a lot of high-quality videos and photos, you are likely to run out of storage space on your Oppo A37 very quickly. There is an option to increase the storage by up to 256GB via a microSD card, but even that might not be enough.

To avoid running out of space on your smartphone, you should move the files that take up the most space to your computer. Moving files from your Oppo A37 to a computer is quite simple, so let’s take a look at how to do it.

Use Windows File Explorer

Using Windows File Explorer is the simplest way to transfer your videos, photos, music, and other files to your computer. Here’s what you need to do:

1. Connect the Devices

First, you need to connect your Oppo A37 to your computer via a USB cable. If possible, use the same USB cable you use for charging the phone and make sure that it’s properly plugged in. Otherwise, some of your data might be damaged or lost during the transfer.

2. Allow Access to Your Smartphone

Once the connection is made, you need to allow access to all of the files on your Oppo A37. Tap on Allow in the pop-up window that appears on your screen to enable the transfer.

3. Launch Windows File Explorer

Click on the File Explorer icon on your computer to gain access to the data on your smartphone.

4. Find Your Phone

After you’ve launched File Explorer, you need to find the folder with all the Oppo A37 files. These files could be located under External Storage or Remote Device.

5. Choose the Desired Files

Browse all the files on your Oppo A37 and select the ones you want to transfer to your computer. Hold the Control key and click on all the files you want to transfer. Then you can press Ctrl + C on your keyboard to copy the files.

6. Paste the Files You Selected

You can paste the files to the destination folder on your computer by pressing Ctrl + V on your keyboard. Alternatively, you can right-click inside the desired destination and then click Paste.

7. Safely Remove USB

Many users skip this step, but it would be wise to apply it because it protects the integrity of your files. When you see the notification “Safe to Remove Hardware”, you can unplug your smartphone.

Third-Party Apps

You can choose one of the third-party apps from the Play Store if you wish to get more options to move your files. These apps help you transfer your contacts, text messages, and other important information to your computer. Some of these third-party apps even allow you to transfer files from one smartphone to another.

Our recommendation for a third-party app is Wondershare MobileGo. Here is how it works:

1. Connect Your Devices

After you’ve launched the MobileGo app on your PC, you need to connect your smartphone. You can do it via a USB cable or scan the QR code the app provides for you.

2. Select the Files You Want to Move

You can select different types of files to move to your computer from the menu on the left. Tick all of the files you want to move and click on Import/Export in the top menu to transfer them to your computer.

Endnote

If you regularly transfer files to your computer, you will have all your data safely stored outside of your smartphone and won’t have to worry about backups. Even though third-party apps give you some extra functionality, you don’t have to use them to transfer files to your PC.
