Oppo A83 – How to Factory Reset
There are a few reasons for doing a factory reset. You might have decided to give away your phone or sell it, so you need the device free of any personal information and data. Also, a factory reset can come in handy if your Oppo A83 is not performing as well as it’s supposed to.
While a factory reset will clear your phone from any malware and viruses, it’s worth noting that this process is irreversible. This means that there is no way to bring back any of the data after you reset the phone. So you need to back up your phone before you perform a factory reset.
How to Do a Backup
There are a couple easy ways to do a backup on Oppo A83. You can back up the phone to your Google account or perform a Local Backup. Also, you can connect the smartphone to a PC and transfer files directly to your hard drive or an external SD card.
1. Back Up to Google Account
You should take the following steps in order to backup the Oppo A83 to your Google account:
Settings > Backup & Reset > Back Up Account > Select Your Google Account
When you finish this step, you need to go back to Settings and do the following:
Accounts & Sync > Select Linked Account > Tick All the Boxes > Tap Sync Now
2. Do a Local Backup
You can also perform a local backup to save your data to an SD card or an external hard drive. Here’s how to do it:
Settings > Back Up and Reset > Local Backup > Create New Backup > Tap Start Backup
Besides the backup, you may want to consider removing all your accounts from the phone, especially if you wish to sell or give it away. It is wise to remove them since Google may ask for certain permissions when you restart the phone after the reset is done.
