Oppo A83 – How to Move Files to PC

Posted by Arch on June 4, 2019

The Oppo A83 allows you to install a microSD card and expand your storage by up to 256GB. Nevertheless, if you like taking 1080p videos and high-quality photos, you may run out of space very quickly. Adding lots of audio and video files to your Library will also eat up gigabytes of memory.

To make sure you never run out of space on your Oppo A83, you will need to move some of the files to your computer. In this article, we’ll take a look at the two easiest ways to do this.

Moving Files via File Explorer

One of the simplest ways to move files to your PC is to use the File Explorer on your computer. To do so, take the following steps.

1. Connect the Oppo A83 to Your Computer

You can use the USB cable that came with the smartphone to connect the two devices. Make sure that the cable is properly plugged into both devices to prevent data loss or damage.

2. Allow Access

A pop-up window will appear on your smartphone asking you to allow access to the files. You should tap on Allow to confirm the connection. Otherwise, you won’t be able to move any files.

3. Click on File Explorer

You need to launch the File Explorer to access all the files on your phone.

4. Select Your Phone

Locate your phone in the File Explorer and click to open it. It might be listed as a Remote Device or External Storage.

5. Select the Files You Want to Copy

Click on all the files or folders you wish to copy to your computer. You can hold the Control key to select multiple files. After you’ve selected all the files you want to copy, right-click on one of them and then left-click Copy. Alternatively, you can press Ctrl + C on your keyboard.

6. Paste the Files to the Desired Destination

After you’ve copied the files, paste them to a destination on your computer. Either right-click inside the destination folder and click Paste or use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + V. This might take a while depending on the size and type of the files you are transferring, so be patient.

7. Click Safely Remove USB

By clicking on the Safely Remove USB, you ensure none of the files are lost or damaged in the transfer. You can unplug your phone as soon as the “Safe to Remove Hardware” notification appears in the system tray.

Using Third-Party Apps to Move Files

If you wish to move all kinds of different files including apps and contacts, you may want to consider using a third-party app. Our recommendation is the Vibosoft Android Mobile Manager. This application allows you to move all the files from your smartphone to a PC and is a great option for backups.

Also, the app features very simple and easy-to-use interface, so you won’t have any problems navigating it. Here is how to use it:

1. Launch the App

After you’ve launched the application, connect your phone and wait for the software to get it ready.

2. Select Export

When the device is ready, you will be able to preview all the files on your phone and select the ones you want to transfer. You need to choose the files and then click Export to move them to a new destination.

Conclusion

Besides freeing up space on your Oppo A83, file transfers also allow you to back up your phone. This process is generally very simple and doesn’t require you to download any additional software. However, if you wish to get more options, you might want to give some external app a try.
