Samsung Galaxy J7 Pro – Wifi Not Working – What to Do?

If your smartphone cannot connect to Wi-Fi, its functionality will become limited as a result. Admittedly, there are apps that don’t require an internet connection to work. But most of us rely on email, social media, and productivity apps in our daily routine.

Of course, LTE networks come in handy if there is no way for your phone to connect to wifi. However, you may use up all the gigabytes very quickly or amp up your monthly bill if there is no limit. This is why it is very important to deal with Wi-Fi connectivity issues as soon as possible.

Here are some things you can do to solve this problem.

 Do a Soft Reset

One of the first things you can do that may solve the problem is the so-called soft reset. This should help fix some of the bugs that have accumulated in the operating system. The method is similar to the old-school battery pull, which also purges your RAM. Here are the steps:

1. Hold the Volume Down Button
2. Afterward, Hold Down the Power Button Without Releasing the Volume Down
3. Your Phone Should Restart After a Few Seconds

The alternative way to get the same results is to turn your smartphone off and on or physically remove the battery to reboot it.

Wipe the Cache Partition

System cache files are basically all the temporary pieces of data that your phone stores so that apps can run more efficiently. The more apps you use, the larger your cache pool will be. Sometimes these files can get corrupted or obsolete. More importantly, they may also affect the performance of your wifi. You should do the following to purge cache:

1. Turn Off Your Smartphone

2. Hold Down the Volume Up Button, the Bixby Key, and the Power Button

Hold down the Volume Up button and the Bixby key for a few seconds. Then hold down the Power button without releasing the other two buttons. Release all three buttons when an Android logo appears on the screen. Before you enter System Recovery, the screen will display the Installing System Update message for about a minute.

3. Select Wipe Cache Partition

Once you are inside the System Recovery menu, navigate using the Volume rockers to get to the Wipe Cache Partition and press Power button to confirm.

4. Highlight Yes

Confirm the purge by navigating down via Volume buttons. Again, press the Power button to confirm.

5. Reboot System Now

The Reboot System Now option appears will appear once the cache partitioning is complete. All you need to do now is to press the Power button to restart your smartphone.

Forget Your Wi-Fi

In case your J7 Pro cannot connect to your Wi-Fi, unlike other devices you have, forgetting the wifi you are currently on might solve the problem. Basically, you are disconnecting from the network and connecting back on. And this is what you need to do:

1. Swipe Down to Access the Status Bar

2. Hold Down on the Wi-Fi Icon

After a couple of seconds, a list of all the connections including the one you are trying to access should appear.

3. Tap and Hold on the Network You Are Trying to Access

A menu will pop up and you will need to select Forget Network.

4. Reconnect to the Same Network

As irritating as Wi-Fi connectivity issues might be, they are usually not that hard to fix. Keep in mind that your smartphone might not always be the cause of these problems.
