Samsung Galaxy S6/S6 Edge How to Change Wallpaper
Personalizing your wallpaper is one of the easiest ways to give your Samsung Galaxy S6/S6 Edge a facelift. What’s more, wallpapers can set your smartphone apart from others like it. Here are some simple steps to change the wallpaper on your Samsung Galaxy S6/S6 Edge.
Change Your Wallpaper
You can change your wallpaper to another preinstalled image on your Galaxy S6/S6 Edge or choose from your photos. Your personalization options are relatively limitless.
Method 1: Via Home Screen
Step 1 – Access Your Wallpapers
First, go to your Home screen. While on it, tap and hold any empty area on the screen. This will bring you into edit mode for your Home screen.
You may see the following options in this mode:
- add widgets to Home
- change wallpapers
- apply Galaxy S6 themes
- set screen grid
If you just want to change the background, tap on the Wallpapers option.
Step 2 – Choose Wallpaper Location
Next, you will choose where you want to access your wallpaper from. If you would like to use pictures that you’ve taken on your phone, tap on “From Gallery”.
You can also choose from a selection of preinstalled wallpapers that came with your Samsung Galaxy S6/S6 Edge.
Whether from your Gallery or from preinstalled wallpapers, if you tap on an image, you will see a preview of what your screen may look like. Once you’ve found one you like, tap on “Set as Wallpaper” at the bottom of the screen.
In the top left-hand corner, you will see “Home Screen” with a downward triangle or arrow. Tapping on the arrow will give you the options to set the wallpaper for your Home, Lock, or both screens.
Method 2: Via Settings Icon
Step 1 – Access Your Wallpaper
Additionally, you can also access your wallpaper options by going into the Settings menu. To do this, swipe down from the top of your screen. This will bring down your notification panel.
Bring up your Settings menu by tapping on the gear icon in the upper right-hand corner of the screen. While in Settings, scroll down until you get to the Personal section. Tap on “Wallpaper” to access or change your backgrounds.
Step 2 – Set Your Wallpaper
Your wallpaper options are at the bottom of the screen. Scroll through available images by swiping left or right. When you find one you like, tap on the image. This will give you a preview of the Home screen with the new wallpaper.
If you like what you see, tap on “Set Wallpaper” at the bottom of the screen. Furthermore, like the other method, you can tap on “Home Screen” in the top left hand corner of your screen to change where you want the background to be displayed. You can select from Home screen, Lock screen, or both to set the wallpaper to both locations.
If you’re tired of your preinstalled wallpapers, just head to the Play Store and pick up a free wallpaper app. These third-party apps have a different range of features from HD to Live wallpapers, all of them available in different themes or categories. So whether you prefer scenic landscapes or pop culture references, there is a wallpaper app that’s right for you.
