Taking a screenshot is a very great addition to the cell phone market, and is something that many of us take for granted. Whether you want to share your screen with others, save a particular text message, or do something else, there are a ton of different reasons why you might need to take a screenshot. Thankfully, the process is quite easy on the iPhone 6S (and most iPhone’s as well for that matter), and there are also a few different ways to do it. Thankfully, they are all equally simple and anyone is able to take a screenshot. After taking it, it is very easy to share or send the screenshot to anyone you want.

First Method – Using the Physical Buttons to Take a Screenshot

The first (and simplest) method to take a screenshot on the iPhone 6S is by using the physical buttons on the phone. By pressing the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time, your phone will take a screenshot of whatever is currently on your screen. Apple has said that the correct way to do this is to press the Sleep/Wake button, followed by the Home button, but it is simpler and seems more natural to just press both at the same time. You will know if it works by the screen having a slight flash, sort of like a camera shutter.

Second Method – Using Assistive Touch to Take a Screenshot

Assistive Touch is an Accessibility feature on the iPhone that gives you a virtual button on the screen that can accomplish a number of different tasks. It can replace the home button (in case of physical damage to the device) as well as having a number of other functions. One of those functions is the ability to take screenshots, and thankfully, it is also quite easy to do too. As long as you have the Assistive Touch turned on, this can be done. Simply touch the floating menu button, then Device, then More and then simply hit the Screenshot button. The screen will then flash like it normally does from a normal screenshot. This will only take a little while to do, and can actually be done by only using a single hand (as opposed to the two that it takes if you use the first method included in this article. While this is definitely a bit more work than simply pressing two buttons together, it is a great substitution if one of the buttons doesn’t function correctly or if you already use Assistive Touch on your device.

Once you have taken the successful screenshot, it will show up in your Camera Roll with all of the other photos on your device, and will be readily available to be shared, posted to social media and can even be edited. Screenshots are one of those features that most of us take for granted as they have been there for years, but they really are a super useful and helpful feature for a number of different things. Without the ability to screenshot, you would constantly have to refer back to numerous different sources for information, instead of just keeping a folder for various screenshots in your Camera Roll.
