How To Add Ringtones On Galaxy S9 And Galaxy S9 Plus

When you get a call from your Samsung Galaxy S9 or S9 Plus you will receive a loud audio sound, called a ringtone. Your Galaxy S9 or S9 Plus will automatically be set in Loud Ring Mode. Your smartphone will have a list of predefined ringtones and one default tone, all of which can always be adjusted in the settings and either set to a new or a custom tone. You can have personalized tons like your favourite mp3 as a custom ringtone.

There is even a function that will allow you to play an entire song or just your favourite chorus if you would prefer. There’s no need to let the phone ring half of that song, just play the best part.

In this guide, you can learn how to do all of the above. We have two main options but to begin with, we will explain how to apply a tone for an entire agenda or to a particular contact. We will also explain how to pick a contact and change the ringtone for just that person, keeping everyone else on your phone to the original tone. In the first method, you can change the ringtone for the entire agenda, except for the contacts you have previously personalized manually.

Note that the audio you want to use needs to be loaded on the device before setting it as a ringtone.

Method 1 – Change the Galaxy S9 Ringtone for All Contacts:

  1. Start by swiping down from the Notification Panel
  2. Now Tap on the settings icon, find Sounds and Vibration and navigate to Ringtone
  3. In the newly opened window, tap the Ringtone option to see the default ringtone of all your future incoming calls
  4. This will give access to a list of all the predefined ringtones on your Samsung Galaxy S9 or Galaxy S9 Plus
  5. Tap the option that says Add (top right)
  6. A new pop-up menu will ask you to choose the app you want to use to complete this action
  7. Select Sound Pick and then find out your favourite song to choose from in the Music Player
  8. Lastly, tap on the .mp3 song that you want to use as your Samsung Galaxy S9 or S9 Plus ringtone. The phone then chooses by default the highlighted part of your audio file

If you want your ringtone to the play the entire song, uncheck the box on the left side of the highlights only option.

  1. Start by tapping the Done Button to save the changes
  2. Then leave the menu and wait for your first call with this newly selected ringtone

Method 2 – Change the Galaxy S9 Ringtone for Individual Contacts

  1. Begin with Launching the Contacts app
  2. Navigate the list until you find your favourite contact and tap on it
  3. Select Edit and tap on the button that says “More”
  4. Using the extended menu, scroll the bottom and tap on Ringtone
  5. Now navigate to Add and tap it
  6. Select Sound Picker inside the Complete-Action-Using window
  7. Choose the special song for that contact, using the Music Player app where you will automatically be redirected
  8. If you want to hear the entire song make sure to have the Highlights only Box unchecked
  9. Select the Done option when ready
  10. Tap Save for the changes to take effect
  11. Finally, repeat these steps with other contacts if you’d like to personalize their ringtones too

You should now be able to officially add ringtones to your Samsung Galaxy S9 or Galaxy S9 Plus. Have fun choosing those unique songs for the people you’re most fond of.
