How to Delete Your Account on the Wish App

Wish is among the popular eCommerce websites. It’s famous for its affordable prices and item variety.

However, you might want to delete your account for any reason. You might be done with the website, or merely want to start fresh with a new account.

Here’s how to delete your Wish account once and for all.

Deleting Your Account

First of all, the Wish mobile/tablet app doesn’t offer you the option to delete your account. You can only deactivate it in this way. More on this later, though.

So, you’ll have to go to wish.com using your mobile or desktop browser. Once you’re on the Wish website, log in to your account. In case you don’t remember your credentials, an option for this will appear on the login screen.

Once successfully logged in, go to Settings, followed by Account Settings. Alternatively, navigate to this URL. Start scrolling down until you hit the red link called Manage Account. Follow this link. Now, you’ll see two options: deactivate and permanently delete your account.

After reviewing all information on the screen, click/tap Permanently Delete Account. To delete your Wish account, you’ll have to verify your ownership using either the text or email method. Choose your desired option and follow the onscreen instructions.

Once you’ve verified the account, select the reason for deletion and then go to Continue. After this, your account should get deleted.

Bear in mind that once your account gets deleted, there is no turning back. There is no way for you to retrieve it.

Not All People Can Delete Their Accounts

Unfortunately for some who are keen on deleting their account, Wish only supports deletion for regions where the privacy laws are applicable. That means that you might not be able to remove your Wish account permanently.

Fortunately, every single Wish account can be deactivated.

Deactivating Your Account

There are a couple of things that you need to keep in mind before deactivating. Firstly, if you have any Wish Cash balance, you won’t be able to use it when you deactivate your account. Then, if you have an ongoing order, account deactivation may prevent you from accessing those orders. Finally, you won’t be able to contact Wish Support without an active account.

You can deactivate your account via the Wish app on your smart device. Go to Account Settings, and find the Deactivate Account entry there. Select the deactivation option and follow the onscreen instructions.

Of course, you don’t need the app to deactivate your Wish account. Instead, you can use the browser. Go to Manage Account, as explained in the account deletion section, but select the deactivation option this time. After selecting Deactivate Account, follow all the instructions regarding verification.

Keep in mind that account deactivation may take up to 24 hours.

Disabling Facebook Privileges

You can use Wish through Facebook. However, you can’t “detach” the Wish service from Facebook using wish.com or the Wish app. Instead, go to your Facebook app. Tap the three horizontal lines icon in the top- or bottom-right corner of the screen. Then, select Settings & Privacy, followed by Settings.

Now, find the Apps and Websites setting and remove the Wish app entry. You’ll have to go to Logged in with Facebook if you’re using the mobile Facebook app.

Deleting the Wish Account

If your location has applicable privacy laws, you will be able to delete your account. However, if not, you can disable it and disconnect it from Facebook. Either way, you can get Wish out of your way, if you don’t need it any longer.
