How to Share Playstation 4 Digital Games

Unfortunately, once you buy a code for a game on the PS store, there is no way for you to share the code and let your friends or family play the same game. However, there is a way to circumvent this problem. You might not be able to share codes, but there is still a way to share the joy with your friends and family, so that they too can play your games, and vice-versa.

It’s worth mentioning that, to go through with this plan, you need to have someone who is really close to you, someone you can truly trust. You’ll have to give your account username and password to that person and he or she needs to do the same.

Ok, let’s assume you and your friend or relative both have PS4 consoles and you both have your own accounts with different games.  Now, you can have your login credentials on a different console and the other person can have his or her credentials on your console.

When you log into that different account, or when the other person is logged into your account, you will both have access to all the games that are on that other account. Unfortunately, only one person can be logged on to one account, so if your friend or relative logs on to your account while you are playing, you will be automatically logged out.

However, there is a way to gain access to the games that are on a different account on your console even though you are logged into your own account. The account simply needs to be on your console and that account needs to be set as the primary account. Just go to Settings, then go to the PSN section and select “Activate as Your Primary” option, and then select “activate”.

You should do this with your friend’s account so that whenever you are logged in as yourself, you’ll have access to the games that are on the primary account on your console. Furthermore, your friend or relative should set your account as the primary on his or her console, and that way, he or she will have access to all the games you purchased.

Here is a link to a video that demonstrates what was explained in the text above. Basically, you need to have someone reliable who won’t take advantage of your account’s login credentials. Hopefully, one day, there will be a more user-friendly way to share digital game copies, but until then, this is the only way we are aware of.
