How To Turn ON And OFF Notifications On Apple Watch

For those that have recently purchased an Apple Watch and want to know to turn ON and OFF notifications for the Apple Watch, we’ll explain how to do this below. The following instructions work for the Apple Watch Sport, Apple Watch and Apple Watch Edition.

The main reason you would want to turn on the Apple Watch Notifications it allows you to have access to alerts, messages and all other sorts of information from your iPhone directly on your Apple Watch. When you enable notifications on the Apple Watch, almost every notification will be forwarded to your Apple Watch. These notifications will work as long as your Apple Watch is connected with your iPhone over a WiFi or Bluetooth connection.

The following are step-by-step instructions on how to turn on and enable notifications on your Apple Watch:


How to set up your notifications on Apple Watch

  1. Turn on your iPhone.
  2. Go to the Apple Watch app.
  3. At the bottom of the screen, select on the My Watch tab.
  4. Select on Notifications.
  5. Change the Notification Indicator toggle to on to see an orange dot at the top of your Apple Watch face.
  6. Select on a built-in or App Store app to set individual notifications for each.


To turn OFF these notifications on for your Apple Watch, just follow the above steps in reverse order to be able to disable notifications on the Apple Watch.

Some of the App Store apps allow you to select mirroring options on your iPhone notification settings or disabling notifications for that app.
