How To Use Custom Music On Galaxy S8 And Galaxy S8 Plus

Have you purchased the new Galaxy S8 or Galaxy S8 Plus? If so you may be interested in changing the ringtone to be a custom audio or music file. It is possible to also use custom audio for the alarm. Here we explain how to do this step by step on the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus.

Many of the original ringtones on the phone as standard are pretty boring. If you are not sure what kind of audio you want but want to check out options, you could try downloading an app from the Google play store that will provide you a library of sounds to choose from. Some of these will cost money, so be sure to read the reviews of apps you consider.

Follow these step by step instructions to select custom ringtones.

Set Custom Music As The Alarm

Before you start this process you need to make sure the track you want to use is saved within your phone memory. For best results, try connecting your Galaxy S8 or Galaxy S8 Plus to the computer that stores all of your music files, and transferring them to the Music Folder on the smartphone. The Android File will help you do this. If you are using Mac, you can employ the Transfer tool, and then click-drag the music to your Samsung Galaxy.

Once the music is saved on Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus, follow this step by step process:

  1. Find the App tray and Tap Click
  2. Find and select the Editing Screen of the Alarm you want to add your track to.
  3. Tap “Alarm tone”.
  4. Look for the “Add” button on the menu that shows a list of track.
  5. Find the song you want and then tap “Done”.

When this is done, your alarm should ring using the track you just set. There is an option on the music choice called “Auto recommendations”. Select this if you want the ring to be purely the highlight or main part of the track. Otherwise you will have the intro of the song take up a lot of time at the start of the alarm.
