Is Hulu Live Commercial and Ad Free

Hulu Live is one of the most popular online streaming services. With a Hulu Live subscription, you get access to more than 60 live channels, as well as thousands of on-demand movies and TV shows. It seems like a pretty good investment, but people usually have one question: Is it ad-free?

There’s nothing worse than having to watch ads in the middle of a tense movie scene. Hulu found a way to let you watch your favorite TV shows without interruptions. Keep reading to learn more about available subscription plans.

Hulu (No Ads) + Live TV

As mentioned, Hulu + Live subscription gets you access to live TV as well as a massive library of on-demand content. You can watch the latest episodes of your favorite TV shows as well as some of the most popular movies ever.

When it comes to prices, you can get Basic Hulu + Live TV for $54.99 per month. Unfortunately, this plan includes ads, as that’s one of the ways that this streaming service supports itself.

If you want to make sure you get ad-free content, you should opt for Premium Hulu + Live TV. This plan costs $60.99 per month. It means that an additional $6 per month can save you from repetitive ads and commercials. We believe that this is a reasonable price because it’ll improve your experience.

If you’re not sure whether it will be a good match for you, you can sign up for a 30-day free trial. You can enjoy ad-free content for one month and then decide which option works better for you. If you don’t like the plan, you can cancel anytime.

Why Am I Still Seeing Ads?

When you subscribe to Premium Hulu + Live TV, most of the content from the Hulu streaming library will come without ads. However, there are some exceptions to this, and we’re going to explain them in the following sections.

Live TV

When it comes to live TV, there’s not much Hulu can do to protect you from ads. Most people subscribe to Hulu Live because they want to watch sporting events or news in real-time. When you’re watching content that’s airing in real-time, you’ll have to see all the ads. Hulu doesn’t have a way to prevent this.

Network on-Demand Content

While 99% of the things that you find in the Hulu library will come ad-free, that doesn’t apply to the extras. When you purchase Premium Hulu + Live TV, you’ll get access to even more stuff than regular users. However, not all of it is Hulu’s, so the platform can’t regulate it.

Live TV grants you access to additional content provided by Hulu’s network partners. That means you’ll be able to watch the latest movies as well as whole seasons of TV shows that aired on a featured channel. Some of them may be ad-free, but certainly not all of them. It depends on the network provider.

Ad-Free Channels

Hulu Premium allows you to stream specific channels without any breaks. For now, you can enjoy HBO, Cinemax, SHOWTIME and STARZ ad-free. We hope that they’ll add more channels to the ad-free list.

The only ads you may get will be before the beginning of your TV show or movie. They aren’t traditional ads. Instead, they show you similar films or TV shows that you might like, based on your interests.

(Not) Entirely Ad-Free

We believe that this’s a pretty good offer and that Hulu’s doing a great job of keeping the ads to the bare minimum. It’d be a bit unrealistic to expect to watch live TV content without any ads.

Have you tried Hulu Live’s ad-free subscription plan? If not, would you give it a try? Let us know in the comments section below.

Eric says:
I currently am trying out Hulu with Live TV and their DVR service. I understand live TV I can not forgo commercials, however if I record it on their DVR service and watch the show from the recording, I can’t fast forward through the commercials like I can on Direct TV or any cable provider that I recorded the program onto their DVR. IS this true? If I go with the premier version of Hulu and record a live program onto the DVR for later viewing can I fast forward through the commercial
