What is the IMEI number?
IMEI — International Mobile Equipment Identity. IMEI is a common standard for all mobile devices, which is assigned to the phone at the time of manufacture in the factory. An iPhone IMEI and iPhone ESN are similar to the DNA of the smartphone and all the information can be found about the smartphone by doing an IMEI check or ESN check.

It’s a unique number used for identification purposes, which is broadcasting to the carrier to authorize that specific phone to be used on that network. The structure of the IMEI is the same for all phones regardless of the manufacturer. The IMEI number is also used by the carrier to track and blacklist stolen phones, preventing the phone’s actual owner from getting into trouble for the thief’s behavior. Make sure to check the IMEI and check the ESN before you purchase a device to prevent headaches in the future. The IMEI is also known as the ESN or MEID.

Why should I verify my IMEI number with IMEI Check?
If a device is reported stolen, the device will be unusable on most carrier networks (including T-Mobile) even if the SIM card is changed. IMEI is also printed under the battery of your phone, on the package you purchased it in, and on receipts. Apple users can find an iPhone’s IMEI number by going to Settings, then to General, and then to About. If you can’t find the IMEI number, search for the ESN or MEID number.

What is the serial number?
The manufacturer assigns to each device a unique serial number, which provides all information about the device: model, production country, date of manufacture. The serial number is unique for each device from one manufacturer.

How can I find the serial number?
Generally, the serial number is printed on the packaging and duplicated on the device. In most cases, the serial number is located on the outside case of the device.
