Use this link to select the proper download option based on the device you have – Android, iOS, Windows, Mac – and create an account. Once the app is installed and updated, there’s only one thing left. You need to charge your Ring Doorbell Pro.

You can do that with the micro USB cable that is included with your Ring Doorbell Pro. Simply plug one end of the USB cable into a power source and the other end in the back of the doorbell. You will see the LED indicator showing you the battery level of your Ring Doorbell Pro.

Once the battery is full, the LED indicator circle will be fully lit. Now you can move on to installation.

The installation process varies slightly for people who have a doorbell. If you want a wireless doorbell, just follow these steps:

Place the baseplate tightly onto your doorframe. Then put the level – it is included in the package – right in the middle of the baseplate. Make sure it’s totally even.
Use a pencil to mark the screw holes in each of the four baseplate corners.
Drive the screws (also included) with your screwdriver right through the holes in the corners of the baseplate and into the doorframe.
Use the anchor bolts (included as well) if you want to mount the doorbell into a brick or concrete wall. With the drill bit (included), drill in four holes into the doorframe. Then place the plastic anchor bolts in and drive the screws directly into said anchor bolts.

That’s it for the physical part of the installation. Now it’s time to link the Ring app with your Ring Doorbell Pro.

Ring Doorbell Pro Setup

Finally, you can begin with the Ring Doorbell Pro setup. Remember that you need the Ring Doorbell fully charged, and the app running on your phone, tablet or computer. You’ll need to enter your home location, the exact location where you placed the doorbell – front door, for example – and configure sensitivity of the doorbell’s motion detector.

Start up the Ring Doorbell Pro using the button on the front. Now you can check the video quality. Make sure that your Wi-Fi router is relatively close to the Ring device and that your network is not cluttered. Consider using a separate Wi-Fi network on your router for the device’s camera.

If the video quality is bad you might need a Wi-Fi extender, such as the Ring Chime Pro. Alternatively, you might want to switch to a better internet plan, with better upload and download speeds. The recommended speed for the 1080p video quality of the Ring Doorbell Pro is 2 Mbps.

However, having an even better internet plan is not a bad idea. Once you get a clear video, it’s time to tighten the baseplate.

Now you can attach the Ring Doorbell Pro to its baseplate. First, loosen the security screws at the bottom of your doorbell. Next, slide the doorbell over the baseplate and latch it on. With the screwdriver that’s included in the package, tighten the security screws that you have just loosened.
