LG V30 Problems With WiFi (Solutions)

One of the most common issues you can encounter with your LG V30 has something to do with the WiFi. It can result to a lot of malfunctions like a slow or weak Wifi connection, or that your WiFi switches to data automatically, or that you forget a WiFi connection on the LG V30. The following instructions below will address all the types of issues that you might experience and help you fix your LG V30 problems with WiFi that is giving you a huge hassle.

Solve Slow WiFi on LG V30

First, we shall tackle the most common issue which is the slow WiFi speed on the LG V30. Apps like Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, Instagram, Whatsapp and many more will have icons and pictures that looks gray, which indicates that it won’t open at all, or will take a lifetime to load. And even though you have a strong WiFi signal, your  WiFi would still be sluggish and it can cause a lot of hassle especially when you need to access the internet to get some things done. But don’t worry, the following guides will provide some quick steps on how to fix that pesky WiFi problem.

How to fix slow wifi on LG V30:

  1. First, make sure that your LG V30 is turned off.
  2. Then, press and hold the power, volume up and home button simultaneously.
  3. After a while, the LG V30 will vibrate and then the recovery mode will start.
  4. Next, locate the item called “wipe cache partition” and select it.
  5. When that is done, it will take a few minutes for the process to finish and at which time you can restart the LG V30 with “reboot system now”.

LG V30 switches from WiFi to Data randomly:

If you are switching randomly from WiFi to data, it could have something to do with a feature in the settings of the LG V30 aptly called the “Smart Network Switch”. This feature was made in order for users to have a stable and uninterrupted network connection when one of network dies or is very slow. Like if you have a bad mobile data connection, it automatically switches to Wifi and vice versa. Fortunately, this feature can be modified so that it will fix the LG V30 WiFi problem.

Disable the smart network switch on LG V30 and fix the WiFi problem:

  1. First, make sure that your LG V30 is turned on.
  2. Next, activate the mobile data connection of your LG V30.
  3. Then, after the mobile data connection has been activated, go to Menu, and then to Settings and then to Wireless.
  4. After that, you will see the option “Smart network switch” found at the beginning of the page.
  5. Untick this option.
  6. And now, your LG V30 will no longer automatically switch between WiFi and the mobile Internet.

How to forget a saved Wi-Fi network:

If you want to remove a saved Wifi network on the LG V30, access the settings menu and locate the WiFi section. Search for the network that you want to have removed from your LG V30. After you find the WiFi connection, press and hold it, and then click “Forget.” (There’s also an alternative called the “modify” option, which is another method to change the Wifi password stored on your device.)

  1. First, make sure that your LG V30 is turned on.
  2. Then, swipe from the top to the bottom of the screen to access the notification panel and click Settings.
  3. After that, go to the Network connections section and then press Wi-Fi.
  4. Next, if WiFi is toggled off, tap the ON/OFF switch to toggle it on.
  5. Choose the Wi-Fi network profile you want to forget and then click Forget
  6. After all of that is done, the chosen Wi-Fi network profile will be forgotten.
