How to Lip Sync on TikTok

TikTok is a social media app that has taken off like a rocket in the last two years. 2019 was a particularly amazing year for TikTok. Do you remember Vine? Well, TikTok is like a reinvention of that, but with a lot more features to play with.

TikTok users can share 15 or 60-second videos of themselves doing pretty much anything. The scope of what’s possible is endless. As with all other social media apps, you can follow other users and leave comments. As well as search for hashtags and verified accounts. It’s pretty easy to repost to your other social media platforms, like Instagram or Twitter.

Tiktok even has a very catchy and rhythmical name, which suits it perfectly given that it used to be called Musica.ly. As a matter of fact, Musica.ly merged with Tiktok in 2018 and all of its users were automatically transferred there.

Still, a lot of people have yet to hear of Tiktok and even the ones that have aren’t really sure what it is or how to use it. The thing is, this social media app is most popular among young people. Actually, nearly half of Tiktok users are between the ages of 16 and 24. And to be able to use this app, you only have to be 12 years or older, so a lot of the users are under-16-year-old kids.

The point is, older people are more likely to be intimidated by it. The fear of the unknown and all. Baby boomers, Gen X, and older millennials might shy away from this very performative social media app in favor of cynical humor and political threads on Twitter. This is a young person’s playground and Gen Z rules it.
