Echo Auto is the latest Echo release from Amazon and it has been anticipated for quite a while. Via this device, Alexa becomes your new driving assistant, helping you do a variety of things without ever having to take your eyes off the road or your hands off the wheel.

How to Play Offline Music with Echo Auto

One of these things, besides navigation, is playing your favorite driving music for you. There are multiple ways you can play music through Echo Auto, including offline. Let’s take a closer look at some of them.

Playing Offline

Some people like radio. Some people like playing random music on YouTube. Some prefer streaming services. Well, others simply want to play music from their phone, offline. At first glance, one may think that Echo Auto is incapable of playing offline music from your phone. This, of course, isn’t true, as the device can easily pair with your phone and play your stored music.

All you need in order to play music offline from your phone is to turn on Bluetooth on your smartphone. After you’ve enabled it, just say “Alexa, pair.” This will send your Echo Auto device into pairing mode. Note that you will have to do a couple of taps and swipes on your phone, so make sure that you perform these actions while still parked.

Go to Bluetooth settings on your phone and find your Echo Auto device on the list. Tap it and wait until it connects (Alexa will announce it).

Once the two devices connect, you can order Alexa to play the music from your phone’s library. It’s as simple as that. Now, let’s see some other ways to play music with Echo Auto.

Linking the Music Services

Echo Auto also supports several online music services that you can use to play your favorite tunes while driving. These services include Amazon Music, Deezer, Apple Music, SiriusXM, Pandora, Spotify, TuneIn, etc.

Before being able to use these services, you’ll have to link them with the Alexa app. To do this, go to the Alexa app, tap on the Hamburger menu, then select Settings, and then Music. You should see several services listed, including Amazon Music.

Tap Link New Service to add your preferred one. Once added, select the service in question and say “Alexa, play [song/album/artist name].” Echo Auto should automatically play what you ordered it to. Here’s how to add some services to your Echo Auto.

Spotify

Spotify won’t connect to your Echo Auto unless you’ve paid for the Spotify Premium subscription. Select Spotify from the mentioned list, sign in to your account and, finally, tap Agree. This should enable you to use Spotify via Echo Auto.

Deezer

Select the Deezer entry from the list. This will take you to the Deezer’s skills page. Now, tap Enable to Use. This should enable Deezer on Echo Auto but you’re going to have to sign in to your Deezer account first and grant Alexa the permission to access it.

Pandora

Select the Pandora entry from the list. As with Deezer, this should take you to Pandora’s skills page. Select Enable to Use. Now, enter your Pandora credentials and, as with Deezer, allow Alexa to access your Pandora account. You should be able to use Pandora with your Echo Auto now.

Selecting the Default Service

On the Music Services list page, you’ll find the Default Services option, under Account Settings. Tap this and choose which service you’d like to set as default.
