How to Restore the User Library Folder in OS X Mavericks
Most users don’t need to access their user-level Library folder. At least, that’s what Apple thought when they hid it by default in OS X Lion. There were several ways to bring it back, but none of them were convenient for users who needed frequent access to this important folder. Now, in what may be the biggest change in OS X for developers and power users, Apple has quietly restored access to the user Library folder with a simple checkbox.
To find it, navigate to your user folder in Finder and bring up the “Show View Options” window using either the menu bar or by pressing the keyboard shortcut Command+J. At the bottom of this familiar window is a new option: “Show Library folder.” Check it, and your user Library folder will reappear in all Finder windows, although it remains surprisingly still hidden in the “Go” menu (press and hold the Option key to reveal it there).
