This nine-step process is actually a lot faster than it seems, given the improved responsiveness of Netflix on Roku and the improvement made to the Roku OS concerning navigation. But, this is also an old method from before Roku became a household name. There are easier ways to do this now.

How to Sign Out of Netflix

Here’s what you can do if you own a Roku smart TV or dongle.

  1. Go to your Roku home screen.
  2. Bring up the Netflix channel.

  4. Select the Sign out option.
  5. Hit Yes to confirm.
  6. Input new Netflix credentials and log in.

Note that this process is the same for all Roku streaming sticks starting with Roku 3.

If for some reason your Netflix interface doesn’t let you see the gear icon or you can’t see the Settings menu, you can input a specific sequence from your remote to access the Netflix settings menu:

Use this sequence with your arrow buttons on your Roku remote: up arrow two times, down arrow two times, left arrow, right arrow, left arrow, right arrow, up arrow four times. This should give you four options:

  1. Sign out
  2. Start Over
  3. Deactivate
  4. Reset

After choosing the Sign Out option you should be able to log into a different Netflix account. Note that you should always use your Roku remote in order to do this. Using your regular TV remote won’t do anything after inputting the sequence.

There is no option for settings for Netflix on my roku. When I use the left arrows, it just keeps scrolling through shows over and over. I need to find the settings option!
