There have been recent reports that people have had this problem before. You can use the steps below to learn how you can turn Galaxy S8 ON or OFF without using the power button so you do not need to get worried if your power button gets broken. The steps to fix this issue for your Galaxy S8 Plus are the same.
 
Turning Galaxy S8 ON without using a power button:

  1. Simultaneously click and hold the button for volume for a little bit to turn your Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus off.
  2. Using the USB cable, connect your computer to your smartphone while still holding down the volume button.
  3. Patiently wait until your device is booted into Download mode.
  4. Cancel your device’s operations by clicking down on your volume rocker.
  5. Your Galaxy S8 will turn back on and reboot once you cancel the operation.
  6. You did not need to use the power button in order to turn your Galaxy S8 off.

 
Turning your Galaxy S8 OFF without using your power button:

  1. Go back to the home screen by clicking on the home button.
  2. Choose the “Applications” option.
  3. Click on the Play Store icon after you look for it.
  4. Type “Button Savior” in the search box.
  5. Install and download the app.
  6. If you cannot find the app on the Play Store you can download the Button Savior on the web.
  7. Open the Button Savior once you install it. We recommend for you to follow this guide enable debugging mode.
  8. You should open Button Savior once the Debugging Mode has been enabled. Then click on Kill/Start Button Savior Service.
  9. On your screen towards the right side, you will see a small arrow pop-up.
  10. Choose to change to icons.
  11. Hold and click the power button so you can see options that are for your device.
  12. You can turn your device off by choosing the “Power off” option.
  13. You did not need to use the power button in order to turn your Galaxy S8 off.
