How to Tell if Someone Viewed Your TikTok Profile
It’s not even been three full years since TikTok made its foray into the international social media scene. The app, where you can share 15-second video clips set to songs of famous artists, has grown tremendously.
As of this year (2019), it’s estimated that the Chinese app has had over one billion downloads. Yes, you heard that right, a billion! That’s just about one-seventh of the world’s entire population!
Some controversies have punctuated its growth, but more importantly, it has become the go-to app for a series of celebrities, comedians, athletes, and brands. If you’re new to TikTok, this guide will tell you how to check if someone viewed your profile.
Let’s Get Started!
Before we delve into the exact steps you need to follow to check who’s viewing your profile, let us get acquainted with the app first. Some of you who’ve never used TikTok might find it hectic and all over the place, but fear not, there’s nothing there you can’t navigate.
The first thing you’d need to use TikTok is a pair of headphones. Music is essential to the app’s success, and it’d be sterile without it. So we recommend you get a pair of headphones handy before downloading the app.
There’s no need to create an account on the app if all you want to do is browse videos. But we guess that you’re here because you want to post your content, as well. To become able to post your content, you should create an account using either your email, your phone number, or your Facebook account.
Once you sign in, the app will assign you a generic username. You can change it later by tapping on the icon that looks like a person’s torso in the bottom-right corner.
Click on Edit Profile, and you’ll get options to change your picture, bio, and even set a default TikTok Profile video.
Now that you’ve created your profile, you’re all set to post your videos. Just tap the Plus icon on the bottom of the screen and the camera will open. A red button will then appear; tap on it to start recording a video clip. You can add a song before you start recording if you want to lip-sync, dance, or do something else. TikTok also allows you to skip this process and add a song later.
How Do I Check My Profile Views?
With the app navigation and video creation out of the way, let’s get to the profile views. Here are the two simple steps you need to follow to find out who’s checking you out!
Open your TikTok profile and navigate to the Notification tab. You can do so by clicking on the Inbox button on the bottom bar of the screen.
Here you’ll see all your notifications. TikTok will present you with a message along the lines of “[user] and many others checked your profile yesterday.”
Tap on this message to see who viewed your TikTok profile yesterday. You’ll see a list of user profiles with their TikTok pictures. These are the people who viewed your profile the day before.
A Friendly Reminder
That’s all, folks! Checking your profile views couldn’t be any simpler. However, you should keep in mind that TikTok updates the profile views every 24 hours, so you can only check the people who viewed your profile yesterday.
If you want to know who viewed your profile today, you’ll have to wait until tomorrow to find out.
With TikTok being one of the fastest-growing apps in the world, it’s only natural that you’d want a piece of the cake too. And why not, because it’s so much fun! With elements of Snapchat, Vine, Twitch, and Instagram all rolled into one, TikTok is the perfect app for you to share your talents with the world.
If, however, you found any problems downloading the app on your phone or had trouble finding out who viewed your TikTok profile, don’t forget to tell us in the comments. Also, let us know if TikTok is as much fun as it claims to be, or whether there are similar, more user-friendly apps.
