Where’s The Weather App On Galaxy S9

Samsung’s new flagship phone, the Galaxy S9, is packed with lots of customization features. Among these features is the ability to set and customize widgets on your home screen for easier access to apps and other tasks.

One of these widgets gives you an update on the weather every day. It serves as a weather feed on your Samsung Galaxy S9 home screen. This makes it easily accessible. Whether you’re going on a trip and expecting a sunny day, or getting ready for your morning commute to work, this widget can be very useful.

Apps Vs. Widgets

There is a slight difference between apps and widgets. Unlike apps, widgets run and stay on your home screen. They perform simple specific functions like displaying time, calendar, or a To-Do list. Once set, they run at startup, unlike apps which run only when opened. Apps are more comprehensive and multi-purpose programs that allow you to perform more complex functions.

Having the weather widget allows you to view the weather quickly. It is conveniently placed on your home screen, hence making it very easy than having to browse the net for weather reports.

The Weather Widget

To find the Weather widget on your phone. Follow the steps below:

  1. Press and hold anywhere on your home screen. This shows the Widgets and Wallpaper options
  2. Choose Widgets
  3. Browse and select the weather app
  4. Hold then drag it to any position on the screen

Now you can see the weather widget is already on your home screen and is showing the updated forecast of the day or even on an entire week.

Some say that this consumes a lot of your battery. This is true if you have a lot of different widgets all running at the same time. You may save battery and space on your home screen by controlling which widgets you actually need in the present.
