Why Are Emojis Not Showing On My Pixel And Pixel XL?

When it comes to texting, emojis are as common as any letter of the alphabet. They’ve become an integral part of digital communication. However, some Google Pixel and Pixel XL owners have reported that they can’t see Emojis on their smartphone. Sometimes emojis won’t show up on the Pixel and Pixel XL if you don’t have the correct software installed that supports the emojis. There are countless different types of emojis by now, and different emojis are available through different programs. To access the emojis on the built-in texting app on the Pixel and Pixel XL, navigate to the menu and then select “Insert Smiley.”

Operating System

If you see that some Pixel and Pixel XL users have access to emojis that you don’t have, check whether or not you’ve updated your operating system. This can be done by navigating through Menu > Settings > More > System Update > Update Google Software > Check Now to see whether an update is available. If it is, follow the prompts to update your version of the software. A newer version may give you access to new emojis.

Different Software

A main reason why emojis don’t work on the Pixel and Pixel XL is because the software that the other person uses isn’t compatible with the software used by your Pixel or Pixel XL. An example of this is when a third party texting app may include emojis that aren’t supported by the default texting app that your Pixel or Pixel XL uses, which means the emojis won’t be displayed. Missing the relevant software, it would be like asking a shark to bend its knees. The best solution to this problem would be to ask the other person sending the emojis to use different emojis that actually work with the Pixel and Pixel XL.

Alternatively, if you’ve seen the emojis elsewhere and you think they’re cute, you could use the same third party texting app as your friend. A lot of third party apps have a lot more variation than default texting apps, after all.
