Here we’ll take a look at the few common methods to transfer files from your iPhone 7/7+ to a PC.

Use iTunes

Using iTunes could be the easiest and quickest way to transfer your files from an iPhone to a PC. Of course, you will first need to install iTunes on your computer if you don’t already have it. After that, these are the steps you need to take to transfer your files:

1. Connect the iPhone to a Computer

Use a USB type-C cable to connect the iPhone 7/7+ to your PC. If you have iTunes installed, the app should immediately pop up.

2. Click the Device Button

Click on the small iPhone icon on the left-hand side of the top bar in iTunes. This will take you inside your phone. Then select File Sharing to choose the apps you want to transfer files from.

3. Select the File You Want to Transfer

Mark the desired file by clicking on it, then right-click and select Save to. Now all you need to do is to choose the desired destination and save the files.

You can also use the Sync option to transfer all other files like photos, movies, and music.

Transferring Files Without iTunes

If you are using Windows, there is a simple plug-and-play method you can utilize to move the files from your iPhone 7/7+ to a PC. There are two ways to do this, so let’s take a look at them:

1. Use a Pop-Up Menu

Connect to Your PC via USB cable

Once you establish the connection, a dialogue box will appear on your iPhone asking you to allow it. Tap Trust This Computer to allow the transfer.

Select View Content

When you allow the connection, another box appears with different options you can choose from. Select View Content to enter all the files you have on the iPhone.

Choose Files

Click on all the files that you want to transfer and copy/paste them to a destination on your computer.

2. Use Windows Explorer

You can also transfer the files from Windows Explorer. Of course, first you have to connect the phone to your computer via USB cable.

Open My Computer

Your iPhone can be found in Portable Devices. Once you open My Computer/Portable Device, double-click on the iPhone to access files.

Access Internal Storage

All your iPhone files are located under Internal Storage. You can find the photos, for example, in the DCIM folder.

Copy the Files

Select all the files that you want to transfer. You can hold the Control button on your keyboard to select multiple files. Then move them to the desired destination on your PC.

The Final Move

Transferring your files to a PC is not as difficult as it might seem at first, especially since you don’t have to use iTunes to do it. On top of that, there are more than a few third-party applications that can help you transfer your files. Even though most of these apps have limited freemium options, their premium versions even allow you to transfer files from an iOS device to Android.
