The Best Free Music Downloader Apps for Android [June 2019]
Music streaming is now a way of life. You don’t even have to pay for music these days, what with YouTube and other free streaming services. However, how do you listen to your favorite music offline? What if someone’s the traveling type and can only listen to music offline?
This is where mobile music downloaders come in. We’ve looked for Android downloaders and tested a bunch of them, saving you a bunch of time. You can thank us later. Until then, note that downloading anything from YouTube and the like may not be legal. You have been warned. Therefore, it’s best to keep your use private.
Keep in mind that downloader apps are still not as advanced as online music download services and PC apps, so they usually have lower music quality. Now, with all that out of the way, let’s focus on the best Android music downloaders that you can get for free (as of this writing).
Music Downloader (Whim Music)
Let’s start off with the only app on this list that doesn’t offer the download of copyrighted music. It’s surprisingly versatile, as it offers you loads of legal music and podcast downloads, as well as watching YouTube online.
What makes the latter very useful is the background player. For example, when you go back to the Home screen, a small window will appear and show your video while you’re doing something else. Whim Music’s Music Downloader may not suit everyone’s music tastes, but it’s completely legal and highly useful.
Surprisingly, SONGily has managed to stay on the Play Store for quite some time. It has over five million downloads and over 100k user ratings, which are mostly positive.
This app is quite fast and user-friendly, with ads that are not overly annoying. It has its own top list, as well as Recent Releases and Hot Tracks. You can also search for a specific song. The only noticeable downside is that it has mostly remixes, but that won’t ever bother some users.
Mp3 Music Downloader & Free Music Download
If you want to download specific songs, we have you covered. With this app, you can only download the music you search for, but it’s quite good at it. It does have a lot of ads, but you can stop them by just pressing the Back button.
The app’s music player is amazing. It’s stylish and able to fetch album covers and lyrics. The app’s apparent downside is the lack of any suggest-a-song feature.
Free Music – Download Music Free
There is not much to say about Free Music, as it’s identical to the last app. What makes it better is the smaller amount of ads, as well as the simpler interface, as it can’t get much simpler than this. Besides that, downloaded music is a bit easier to find.
On the flipside, Mp3 Music Downloader is better at handling lyrics, which, once downloaded, are shown offline if you’re listening to music in this app.
SuperCloud Song MP3 Downloader
This is the third app in a row that’s just a simple downloader, letting you search for music, download it and basically nothing else. It’s quite light, and so is its music, as the bitrates are low. This means the file sizes are small, making this app useful for everybody with limited storage space.
SuperCloud is not on the Play Store, which means you need to download the .apk file yourself. Remember, such programs are for personal use only.
Finally, TubeMate functions as a web browser of its own, but with the added download option. You can download whatever on YouTube as video or audio, while also choosing its file format and quality.
The reason it can’t be found on the Play Store is pretty clear since it lets you download everything not just from YouTube but from a multitude of other websites as well, such as Dailymotion.
It instructs you as soon as you launch it for the first time, which makes this app great if you tend to download a lot of files at once. Give it a try!
Finding the Best One
All of these are really good music downloaders. You can’t go wrong with any of these. However, if you’re looking for the best and most complex there is, go with TubeMate. If you want the simplest, any of the three apps before that one should work.
