The Best Outdoor TVs in 2022

Setting up an entertainment system outside of your house is a good way to keep your home unique and exciting. Of course, if you want to do this, you’re going to have to buy the right appliances and products. Keep in mind that the appliances that you choose are going to be exposed to various elements, so they need to have the right features.

Outdoor TVs are actually a thing. These are TVs that are made to withstand the challenges that a TV might face in outdoor setups. There are lots of amazing outdoor TVs out there right now, and you’ll definitely want only the best for your home. Here are some of the best outdoor TVs we’ve found and why we think they’re a good purchase right now.

01 SunBriteTV Outdoor Veranda Television

At the top of this list is none other than one of the top brands for outdoor appliances. We are, of course, talking about SunBriteTV and their SunBriteTV Outdoor Veranda Television.

When it comes to the physical design, the SunBriteTV Outdoor Veranda Television is a fortress, not a fashion label. Protection is everything and style is second. The TV cabinets are made like tanks, using powder-coated aluminum instead of lightweight plastic, with a flashy finish similar to that found in luxury indoor units. The front and rear halves of the housing are bolted to protect them from moisture and dirt.

There are no vents that can let in dust, insects, or salty sea air, and they are all sealed. The rugged metal construction makes for a rugged TV. The SunBriteTV Outdoor Veranda Television, on the other hand, weighs 47 pounds and measures 49.4 x 28.7 x 3.5 inches without the optional stand. The overall design is still slimmer and lighter than other outdoor TVs. The 40-inch Evervue Cosmos TV weighs an astonishing 80 pounds, thanks to its stainless steel chassis and internal temperature control unit.

Even without special internal temperature control, the balcony can be used in extreme heat or cold with maximum temperatures of up to 104 degrees Fahrenheit or as low as -24 degrees Fahrenheit.

The SunBriteTV Veranda 55 “Outdoor TV is a valuable successor to the models we’ve tested so far, with the same robust build quality, weatherable design, and improved image quality and sound quality. Compared to previous models including the SunBriteTV signature series, the new SunBriteTV veranda is the best outdoor TV we have ever seen.

Pros

  • Good picture quality
  • Compatible with various streaming apps
  • Good price

Cons

  • Lacklustre audio

Specification

  • Price $2068.95
  • Resolution 4K
  • Refresh Rate 60
  • Display Technology LED

02 Samsung Terrace Smart Outdoor TV

When it comes to TVs, you should always expect Samsung to be one of the companies involved. Even when it comes to the best outdoor TVs out there, Samsung remains at the top of its game. The Samsung Terrace is a great outdoor, QLED TV. It is very bright and has high visibility even in the daytime. Apart from that, the TV boasts a high contrast ratio, which makes it enjoyable even when viewed at night. It has a fast response time and a black frame insertion function that further improves the clarity of motion, making it ideal for watching sports and playing games. It also has a low input lag and a refresh rate of 120 Hz.

However, it’s worth noting that there is no variable refresh rate support to minimize screen tearing during your gaming sessions, but it’s not that noticeable in our opinion.

The wide color gamut, high peak brightness, and local dimming throughout the array help provide a great HDR experience that highlights vibrant colors. Unfortunately, the VA panel’s viewing angle is substandard, which makes it less than ideal for large parties and large seating areas. It is designed for wall mounting but does not include wall mounting or stands. Overall, the Samsung The Terrace is a fine specimen when it comes to picture quality.

The Samsung Terrace is a great TV. It becomes amazingly vibrant and handles reflections plus glares well. Even in daytime, viewing the TV is enjoyable thanks to its amazing picture quality. You can also game with it, thanks to the low input lag. The unbelievably fast response time of the TV also results in some amazing viewing experiences. It has a high contrast ratio plus a complete array of local dimming, making it ideal for watching movies on top of being great for video games. HDR content looks great because it can display a wide color gamut and is bright enough to bring out the highlights.

Pros

  • Amazing display
  • Great build quality
  • Lots of features

Cons

  • Premium pricing

Specification

  • Price $3059.02
  • Resolution 4K
  • Refresh Rate 120 Hz
  • Display Technology QLED
  • Screen Size ‎2.4 x 49.1 x 28.7 inches

03 Seura Shade Series 2 Outdoor TV

While not as well known in the appliance industry, Seura still does a fantastic job when it comes to making TVs for outdoor use. One of the best that they have to offer right now is the Seura Shade Series 2 Outdoor TV. It’s an amazing TV packed with a wide selection of features.

At first glance, the price of this 55-inch TV (even if it includes a 50 W soundbar), especially a non-OLED TV, may seem a bit expensive. However, the premium price is shown in the design required to make the TV available outdoors all year round. To keep Shade 2’s electronics safe, Séura designed an IP56 rated enclosure.

The first digit of the IP (Ingress Protection) rating indicates the function of the TV to protect it from dust. 5 means dustproof. Dust can get into your TV, but it doesn’t adversely affect Shade 2’s operation. The second number shows protection against liquids. At level 6, the TV is protected from strong water jets from all directions. Séura also sells an optional $209 cover for the Shade 2 to enhance protection in the event of a tropical storm or to give you peace of mind when you know your TV won’t be used for a while.

If you’re looking for an outdoor TV, it must be able to withstand the extreme temperatures that it wouldn’t experience indoors. This is where the best outdoor TV guides are really lacking, especially for those who live in climates where temperatures can fluctuate 100 degrees throughout the year. When switched off, Shade 2 can withstand temperatures between -24 and 140 degrees Fahrenheit. The upper limit drops to 104 degrees while using the TV.

The Seura Shade Series 2 Outdoor TV’s best features are its great design and superb picture quality. The fact that there’s a built-in soundbar for the Seura Shade Series 2 Outdoor TV speaks waves about the dedication put into making this amazing TV.

Pros

  • Great design
  • Good picture quality
  • Built-in soundbar

Cons

  • Low brightness

Specification

  • Price $2399.00
  • Resolution 4K
  • Refresh Rate 60 Hz
  • Display Technology LED

04 Furrion Aurora Partial Sun Outdoor TV

Manufacturers need to make a lot of exemptions when it comes to creating TVs built for outdoor purposes. Luckily, the Furrion Aurora Partial Sun Outdoor TV is one of the most versatile TVs out there. With a remote that’s also waterproof, you know you’re getting the best of the best.

One of the most amazing LED TVs in terms of display, the Furrion Aurora is definitely brighter than a typical indoor TV. It’s all thanks to its anti-glare LED screen that provides the best view for observing outdoors in full shade. The ambient light sensor automatically adjusts the level of brightness according to the amount of sunlight it receives, providing a very bright image.

It incorporates a temperature control fan that can extend the life of the device and withstand a wide temperature range from -27 ° F to 140 ° F. The Furrion Aurora has a built-in speaker. Furrion also offers a compatible outdoor soundbar, which can be purchased separately. The sound quality is pretty good for a flat-screen TV, but the Aurora does not have a smart TV feature. Amazon reviewers recommend adding Roku or Fire Stick for streaming. If you’re looking for a smart built-in TV, check out the Sony XBR65X900F.

Weatherproof outdoor TVs are usually quite expensive, but Furrion Aurora is relatively cheap. Definitely cheaper than Sunbrite Outdoor TV. What makes Furrion so valuable is that it has a long life for outdoor viewing. It is completely protected from the elements, and its temperature control eliminates the need to buy another outdoor TV for a long time. Additionally, Furrion offers a one-year warranty.

The Furrion Aurora Partial Sun Outdoor TV is an amazing outdoor TV that’s packed with all of the features that you’d expect from one, a waterproof remote, great durability, and much more. It’s easy to see why it’s a clear favorite for many.

Pros

  • Durable build
  • Amazing display
  • Waterproof remote

Cons

  • Poor media bay size

Specification

  • Price $2599.99
  • Resolution 4K
  • Refresh Rate 60 Hz

05 Seura Full Sun Series 4K Outdoor TV

We’ve said before that Seura is one of the top names when it comes to outdoor TVs. That said, you shouldn’t be surprised the Seura Full Sun Series 4K Outdoor TV is on this list. With a large display and its own cooling fans, this is becoming a fan favorite very quickly.

The Seura Full Sun Series 4K Outdoor TV is Seura’s other amazing outdoor TV. It offers a large and vibrant display unlike any other. Thanks to the wide range of colors and brightness that the TV brings, the Seura Full Sun Series 4K Outdoor TV is perfect to view regardless of what angle and regardless of the current light level outside. To put it simply, it’s one of the best features that you should look for in an outdoor TV.

Another amazing feature of the Seura Full Sun Series 4K Outdoor TV is its built-in cooling fans. These are more than effective to keep the TV running well even on a hot day. Surprisingly enough, not many outdoor TVs have this, which is one of the reasons why the Seura Full Sun Series 4K Outdoor TV is such a great buy right now.

Obviously, you should still be mindful of the temperatures when you’re using this TV outdoors. Most particularly, you need to make sure that the weather isn’t too hot. When it comes to heat resistance; however, the Seura Full Sun Series 4K Outdoor TV is easily one of the top TVs on the market right now.

06 LG C1 OLED

Last but not the least, we’ve got the LG C1 OLED. While not primarily an outdoor TV, the LG C1 OLED is still a good TV to have, and it’s built well enough for outdoor setups as well.

The LG C1’s design is familiar because the appearance of the C-series hasn’t changed much over the past few years. This is the same design we saw in the 2020 LGC XOLED review and the previous LG C9 OLED. But that’s not a bad thing at all; thanks to the incredibly thin dimensions of the OLED display and LG’s display-on-glass design, it still looks great.

When it comes to design, the TV offers something that’s very hard to match. Like the Samsung QN90A Neo QLED TV, which is quite thick. Throughout the top half of the TV, the LGC1 is 0.1 inches thick.

With the organic EL display, we could expect excellent image quality from the C1. OLED technology provides self-illuminating pixels, giving it the ability to lighten or darken individual pixels, resulting in exceptional contrast, perfect dark black values, and excellent HDR capabilities. This TV goes above and beyond what you’d expect from an LG TV. It does this by combining LG’s Alpha 9 Gen 4AI 4K processor with the latest version of LG’s advanced video processing hardware to provide users with the best experience possible.

Finding a good-looking TV can be difficult, but other factors, such as smart TV software, have put competitors slightly ahead. Sony Bravia XR A80J OLED offers the same premium performance as Google TV (currently the best smart TV platform), and Samsung QN90A Neo QLED TV offers better brightness than OLED.

The LG C1 OLED is a good TV thanks to its build and its superb picture quality. It’s hard to expect less from a brand like LG. The LG C1 OLED might be on the expensive end of the spectrum, but thanks to all of its features, it has easily become one of the top favorites of many.

Pros

  • Great display and viewing angles
  • Easy to use OS

Cons

  • Lacklustre colors

Specification

  • Price $1046.99
  • Resolution 4K
  • Refresh Rate 120 Hz
  • Display Technology OLED
  • Screen Size 48 inches
