How To Show More Results Per Page in Gmail

Frustrated that your Gmail results seem limited? If you’re one of those people that likes to see as much of their inbox as possible, there’s an easy fix for that.

Want to see 100 search results in your Gmail? Prefer to see a smaller amount displayed? You can make these changes with a few quick clicks in your Settings.

Increasing Results in Gmail – General

Many people like to increase the number of results per page in Gmail, but these steps also work for decreasing the number. Pick the result number that works for you with this quick tip.

Step One – Open Your Gmail

First, you need to open your Gmail. Your general Inbox view will have a little gear icon in the top right side of the central pane. Click on that to get the Settings drop-down menu. Go down to Settings and click on it.

Step Two – Configure Your Message Results

From your settings General tab, go down to “Maximum page size” and see the “Show XX conversations per page” drop-down option. Click on the little arrow next to the number to change the number of results per page. You can choose from 10, 15, 20, 25, 50, and 100 conversations per page.

After you selected your new result number, scroll down to the bottom of the page to Save Changes.

Curious to know if it worked? The new number should be reflected on the right side of your central pane. For example, the results for this email account is 100 per page.

Changing the settings in this way also increases or reduces the number of results you see for categories, too.

Previously, changing the number of conversations per page did not affect search results. But now when you use the search bar, it retains your preferred number of results displayed.

Check out the top right-side of the central pane. It says “1-100 of about 105” indicating that changing the maximum page size works for search results, too.

Conclusion

In the past, Gmail users were limited to how many messages they could look at on one page. It used to be that 25 results were the norm, making it a pain to flip through result pages.

Nowadays, changing the number of results displayed per page is easy. With a couple of clicks in the Settings options and you can choose between 10 to 100 results per page. Select the results number that works best for you, and customize Gmail for your individual needs.
