The Best Place to Watch Hunter x Hunter Online

Posted by Jamie on April 11, 2019

Hunter x Hunter is an anime series that began back in 2011 or so. It’s a story about hunters tasked with performing all sorts of challenges from hunting bad guys to fighting monsters or finding lost treasure. It’s an excellent premise for a show that keeps on giving. If you want to get in on this anime action, this page will show you some of the best places to watch Hunter x Hunter online.

I think Hunter x Hunter is underrated. Unusually, the earlier series seemed better. Better animation, storylines and production quality. Those that came after the 2011 were still good but seemed to lack a little something. Still very watchable but not as good as the original.

If you want some Hunter x Hunter in your life, these are some of the places you can get it.

Watch Hunter x Hunter online

Despite its popularity, you cannot access Hunter x Hunter many places legally online. I am sticking to legal outlets as you all likely know more places than I do to get these illegally!

Crunchyroll

Crunchyroll is the go-to place for most anime. It doesn’t have everything but what it does have, is high quality, full length anime from across all genres. It doesn’t have every episode of Hunter x Hunter as far as I can tell but it has a lot of them.

Crunchyroll isn’t free but costs just $6.95 per month. You do get a seven day free trial so you can have an explore of the site and watch a few episodes before having to pay. If you’re into anime, you’re either going to already have a subscription or not mind ponying up the seven bucks to join.

There seems to be a huge selection of Hunter x Hunter on Crunchyroll so it is well worth checking out. From early episodes right up to much later ones, 148 in all I think.

Netflix

Netflix has a modest amount of Hunter x Hunter content but nowhere near as much as Crunchyroll. As most of us have Netflix anyway, it makes sense to look there first before paying for other subscriptions.

Anime Planet

Anime Planet is another firm favorite when it comes to anime and another great place to watch Hunter x Hunter online. It has thousands of titles within the site obtained from other sources, Crunchyroll being one of them. I think the site is legit but cannot guarantee it. I saw no warnings and have not heard anything about them being otherwise.

Anime Planet has the same number of titles as Crunchyroll as it sources them from that site. There are the same 148 titles crossing the entire lifespan of the series. Quality is the same, audio is the same, speed of streaming is the same. When playing a title, I think it actually streams from Crunchyroll. You do need to have Flash enabled on your browser though which isn’t great.

Adult Swim

Adult Swim is also a good place to find some anime titles. It doesn’t have everything because it isn’t all about anime but it does have some Hunter x Hunter. The main Hunter x Hunter page has later episodes from season 3. I don’t use the Adult Swim website much so have no idea how often they update or add new content. Having spent some time on the site, I see a lot here that I would enjoy so perhaps my not visiting often will change!

There is tons of content on the site from all the usual favorites to some shows I have never even heard of.

DirecTV

DirecTV is a pay streaming service that competes well with the likes of Netflix, Hulu, Sling and others. It also features Hunter x Hunter episodes. There are currently fifteen in the lineup from seasons 5 and 6. Not the whole range by any stretch but if you’re a DirecTV subscriber anyway, this is just icing on the cake.

DirecTV is between $35 and $55 a month and includes a ton of content from across the entire industry. It’s a viable cord cutting option that delivers live TV, DVR, movies, TV show streams and a ton of other stuff. While not the widest Hunter x Hunter collection around, there is some to keep you happy.

From all of these sources, it seems that Crunchyroll or Anime Planet seem the best sources for Hunter x Hunter. They have the widest selection, most of the seasons and episodes and quality is good too. You will have to pay eventually but you have that free trial to play with first.

Where do you get your Hunter x Hunter from? Know of any other legit sources? Tell us about them below if you do!
