How To Add Bookmark To Homescreen On Huawei P9

We use our smartphones all day long, from using social media apps, to browsing the web. While the Huawei P9 are both some of the fastest smartphones around, there’s a way to speed up and make your overall experience that much better on the Huawei P9.
Traditionally, most people manually open their Internet browser, may it be Google Chrome, Firefox or the standard Internet web browser on the Huawei P9. You can set up a few shortcuts to make things faster when browsing the web. Below we’ll explain how to create a bookmark of your favorite site and adding it to your home screen to quickly access it.

When you create an icon on your Huawei P9 home screen, you instantly go to your favorite site. When selecting the icon on the homepage, it’ll act like an app and bring the bookmarked page up. This will eliminate the need to launch Google Chrome and manually type in your favorite website.

It’s extremely simple, and almost the same steps for multiple browsers if you’re not a fan of the built-in “Internet” app on the Huawei P9. The following are instructions on how to add a bookmark to the home screen of the Huawei P9.

How to add a bookmark to the Huawei P9  home screen
This entire shortcut and trick on the Huawei P9 only takes a few seconds, and is very simple. Follow these step-by-step directions:

  1. Turn on the Huawei P9
  2. Go to the stock web browser app called “Internet”
  3. Go to the website you want to favorite
  4. Look for the address bar and tap the three dots to the far right of the screen
  5. Select the “Add shortcut to home screen”

After you have added to shortcut bookmark to the homepage, that exact page will be set as an icon on the homescreen of your Huawei P9.
For those that want to create a bookmark from the Google Chrome Browser. All you need to do is go to the page you want to create a bookmark for and select the same 3-dot settings icon and then “Add to homescreen” which will give you the option to name the shortcut. Once you select “Add” and the page will show up on your homescreen.
It’s important to note that some phone manufacturers will also allow users to long-press any homescreen for an options window. Here you’ll have widgets and even an “add to homescreen” option to add a bookmark that’s already been saved, but the instructions that we have provided you are much easier to use, and specific for the Huawei P9.
