How to uninstall Widevine Media Optimizer on Mac OS X:
Chrome, FireFox or Safari
All browsers share the same plugin installation.
To uninstall, remove the following file and folder:

  • /Library/Internet Plug-Ins/WidevineMediaOptimizer.plugin
  • /Library/Internet Plug-Ins/WidevineMediaOptimizer
  1. Close and quit all browser windows.
  2. Using Spotlight (Search), find Internet Plug-Ins.
  3. Open the Internet Plug-Ins
  4. Right-click on plugin and select Move to Trash.

 
 
How to uninstall Widevine Media Optimizer on Microsoft Windows:
Chrome

  1. Close and quit all browsers.
  2. Open the Control Panel.
  3. Under Programs, select Uninstall a Program.
    • On older versions of Windows, select Add/Remove Programs.
  1. Select Widevine Media Optimizer Chrome 6.0.0 and click Uninstall/Change.
  2. The program will be removed from the list.

 
Firefox

  1. Open the Add-Ons Manager.
  2. Select Extensions.
  3. Select the Widevine Media Optimizer plugin and click Remove.
  4. Restart the browser after the plugin is removed.

 
 
Internet Explorer

  1. Close and quit all browsers.
  2. Open the Control Panel.
  3. Under Programs, select Uninstall a Program.
    • On older versions of Windows, select Add/Remove Programs.
  4. Select Widevine Media Optimizer IE 6.0.0 and click Uninstall/Change.
