The Best Apex Legends Wallpapers for Android

Apex Legends is one of the fastest growing surprise hits of 2019. The latest and one of the greatest games of the Battle Royale genre, it has very quickly picked up a fervent following.

It accrued 1 million players in the first 8 hours after EA released it by surprise in February. Then it took less than a day to double that number, hitting 2.5 million in 24 hours. It kept up the pace, too, because by the end of its first month, there were over 50 million players getting involved in the squad-based action. Impressive stuff! Hardly a surprise, then, to discover that it was the most successful free-to-play launch ever.

One of the main reasons for the game’s meteoric success is its pedigree: It comes from the stables of Respawn Entertainment, the new studio formed by the guys who came up with the Call of Duty franchise. You’ve probably heard of their last two games, Titanfall and its sequel. In fact, Apex Legends started life as Titanfall 3 before EA purchased the studio and the priorities shifted.

Set in the Titanfall universe, 30 years after the story of the second game, Apex Legends differs from most other Battle Royale games in that it focusses on character classes in the form of Legends.

Each Legend has their own part to play, from Offense to Defense, or providing Recon or Support for their squad. Plus, each Legend has their own aesthetic and special abilities, so players of all preferences can find something that they enjoy.

Don’t expect to see giant mechs running around blowing things up though, because early tests showed that they were a bit unfair for anyone who didn’t have one. Those of you with a robot craving will have to wait for the release of Titanfall 3, which could be a long time coming as the developer Respawn is going to be focused on improving Apex Legends for a while yet.

It’s a rather pretty game too, thanks to their highly modified version of Valve’s Source Engine. Yes, the same tech that made Gordan Freeman’s crowbar so satisfying to play with is under the hood of this action-packed shooter, albeit with a shedload of modern bells and whistles.

Which brings us to why we are here – with great-looking games come great wallpapers. It’s still early in the game’s lifespan, so it can be tricky to find the best of the bunch.
