Apple CEO Tim Cook Headlining the D11 Conference Tonight

The annual D Conference from The Wall Street Journal’s All Things Digital tech publication kicks off today at the Terranea Resort in Rancho Palos Verdes, California. While the event, now in its eleventh season, will feature many executives from a variety of tech companies, all eyes will be focused on Apple CEO Tim Cook.

Mr. Cook, fresh off his visit to Capitol Hill last week, will be interviewed by AllThingsD founders Walt Mossberg and Kara Swisher tonight at 9 PM EDT (6 PM PST). In what will certainly be a less adversarial interaction, Mr. Cook is expected to discuss the details of running the world’s most successful consumer electronics company, recent technical developments, and, in the vaguest terms possible, the company’s plans for the future.

Former Apple CEO and founder Steve Jobs made multiple appearances at the D conference prior to his death, including a memorable joint appearance on stage with longtime rival and friend Bill Gates at D5 in 2007. Mr. Cook himself is no stranger to the conference; he gave his first non-financial-related interview as CEO of Apple during the D10 conference last year.

Other notable executives speaking this year include Cisco CEO John Chambers, Twitter CEO Dick Costolo, Sony President Kazuo Hirari, Box Founder Aaron Levie, Tesla CEO Elon Musk, and Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg.

D11 starts at 1:00 PM PST today and runs through Thursday afternoon. The video recordings of most interviews will be made available by AllThingsD shortly after the conference, and numerous tech sites will be liveblogging the major interviews.
