How to Delete Your Starz Viewing History

There are certain things all streaming apps and services have in common. Things like categorizing their content for easier searching comes to mind. But they also try to curate the content for their viewers. This is done is by recommending movies and TV shows that they think you might enjoy based on your viewing history.

But sometimes this can backfire, and you end up with recommendations based on something you didn’t like. The same applies to Starz content. You can watch Starz in many ways, and you can also delete the viewing history across platforms.

Starz on Hulu

Hulu is one of the most popular streaming services available. It often partners with other streaming services to provide attractive offers for viewers. In the case of Starz, there’s an add-on feature on Hulu which allows you to enjoy even more content. You get to enjoy everything in one place. So along with Hulu premium content, you have Starz original content as well. And by joining subscriptions, you’re joining viewing histories.

But how do you delete the viewing history on Hulu after you’ve watched a new episode of “Power” from Starz? Maybe you meant to wait for your spouse or roommate to join you, but just couldn’t wait any longer! Here’s what you need to do:

1. Go to your Hulu account. Keep in mind that this process might be a lot simpler if you use your computer instead of a mobile device.
2. Each Hulu profile has its own viewing history. Open your profile to bring up your viewing history.
3. You can either delete each video separately or select “remove all videos” (upper left corner).

That’s all that it takes. Now, if you want a clean slate when it comes to recommendations and where the viewing experience will take you, clearing the whole history can be a good idea. On the other hand, if you’re just looking to hide some tracks of recent viewing activity, just removing parts of your history will do fine.

Starz on Roku

Starz is also available on Roku. You can download the Starz channel for free if you’re already a Starz subscriber, or you can get a Starz subscription via Roku TV. There’s also a Starz seven-day free trial, if you’re not sure if you want to commit yet. However, if you’re already using Roku to watch Starz shows and movies, you should know more about Roku and viewing history.

The good news is that Roku doesn’t have a feature that will track your viewing history. It doesn’t display what you last watched. This can be both a good and a bad thing. Sometimes you forget that you watched a movie before and then 15 minutes in, you suddenly remember!

Roku probably has some data on what you watch, and are aware that you’re firing up the Starz channel a lot. But if you’re done with what Starz has to offer, you can always delete the channel from Roku. Just go to Home screen, find Starz, and then press asterisk on the remote. Scroll until you see “Remove channel” and then click and confirm.

Starz on Amazon Fire Stick

Amazon TV Fire Stick is another popular way to watch all the hit TV shows and movies. Starz comes with some amazing period shows like “Outlander” and the mini-series “The White Queen”. And perhaps you watched the entire mini-series over the weekend and now you want it gone from “Recently Watched” space. What do you need to do to make that happen?

1. Go to the Main Menu and select “TV”.
2. Look for the TV show you want to delete from the list.
3. Once you find it, select the “Remove from Recently Watched”.

That’s all there is to it. You can repeat the process if it’s a movie that you want to remove from the viewing history. But instead of going to the “TV” select “Movies” from the Main Menu.

This means that if you wish to delete it, you should be entitled to do so. You can’t, however, delete actual titles from the content library, so certain shows may come across as recommended even when you don’t expect them to anymore. But at least you know that you can cover your tracks if you’re three more episodes in than you said you were. And now you have to pretend to be shocked with a new twist in the series.
